Hello all. I'm looking for a HUO or very nice Sopranos. Cash in hand and ready to go right now. I'm located in Albany, NY and would prefer something within a 500 mile driving range, but would consider shipping for the right game. Please PM me to let me know what you have and what you're asking. Thanks. Mike

That is HUO not new out of box - unless it is another Sopranos. BTW 6k ouch.

Death of the star leading to a run on the machine?

I would be interested in one as I loved the show, but I have never played one to know if I would like it , good luck in your search .

#9 10 years ago

Thanks for the responses everyone. Misfitdart, I will contact you tomorrow to see if I can get some addtl detail regarding your game.

I can say that the death of JG has nothing to do with me looking for this game, as I had already began my search before it happened. I haven't bought a game in many years and have recently decided to finally try a Stern. Theme plays an important part in my game selection and Sopranos is one of the few Sterns that I really have an interest in.

I think you will be more than happy with this title. Its def an underrated pin in my opinion. I think it stands on its own against games like POTC and IM. Both movies I loved but couldnt get into the pins.

I think Kevin at Classic might be getting a TSOP in soon. Not HUO, but nice play field from what I know. I'll let him know that someone is looking for one and if he can, he will send you pics. I have a couple, new play field, plastic set and extra parts for the game. I'm not selling at this point. I love the game and now even more because I love Tony's call outs, and will be happy to hear him yell "extra ball!" , telling me "isn't that special", "it was only a horse!", and "he was like a brother to me". Sleeper game, big time!

I thought one of yours was at Kevin's in storage. I had asked him about buying it a few months ago but I recall that he said it was yours and that he was holding it there for you.

I've been looking for one of these for a while now too.

#21 10 years ago

How much you looking to spend? I have a HUO one. Perfect except for a little flipper button wear. I'll be driving through PA on Monday. Show me the money!

Edit: I'm not really looking to sell this pin since I just got it and I like it a lot, but as they say for the right price everything is for sale except my kids. Oh and for Sopranos the right price is below $4500. That guy is smoking crack!

#22 10 years ago

I own 2, one is at Kev's and I thought Kevin was getting one. I'll let him know you are looking

Yeah,updating the rom is a must....Huge difference

#30 10 years ago

The game was manufactured in April 2005. The original owner never had removed the backglass, so I know it has the original roms. Any revisions to the sound roms? Where is the best place to get the updated version?

Also, this is my first Stern game. I wanted to get a look under the playfield, so I pulled the playfield forward as you would with a WPC game and lifted it up vertically. When I went to push the playfield back, it didn't seem to want to go on it's own. I lifted the back end of the playfield and then it pushed back. Is there any trick with getting the playfield to push back, or is lifting the rear of it the way to do it? Thanks. Mike

Do you mind posting the price you paid, so we have an idea what a potential cost may be?

Thanks Mike for all of the info. I'm going to get in touch with John to order the 5.0 revision. It sounds like I will need a 5.0 display rom as well?

#39 10 years ago

My wife really wants this pin. Did they go up in price because of JG's death? Can't imagine it would make a HUGE difference.

#40 10 years ago

Not 100% on the changes but I believe the rules for Boss is different in the updated code.
And one of the best callouts is added.

Hey guys where do I check to see current rom my game is running? And who do I talk to for the upgrade?
Thanks

#49 9 years ago

Upon boot up it should tell you the software revision.

I recommend "that pinball place" ran by John Wart Jr for rom upgrades. Just google and he'll pop right up.
