My machine has a hand made piece in its place. The pic is one I found discussing a problem with this piece so this is probably why mine is gone!

On my game the plastic is too short so the bulb on the left side got crushed by a pinball so often I don't bother replacing it. Would be nice to have a proper plastic in its place.

#3 9 years ago

I would probe around on here to find out who bought the project on ebay or the other nicer one ending monday I think. Might be the same person and if so they would have an extra set or at least extra plastics.

Good luck with search.

The info and eat plastics are insanely hard to find. Been searching myself and only seeing " tumbleweed blowing thru a hot ghost town street"! ~SpOoKy

#5 9 years ago

Maybe a modded plastic would be worth producing

#6 9 years ago

The guy making lane guides with his cnc cutter would be a great candidate. Who does decals?

Maybe a good table router and Lexan?

#7 9 years ago

Why don't you make a wood jig for your router but you would be making a plastic piece instead of wood piece. They do it all the time on This Old House to make wood pieces.

#8 9 years ago

For a popular pin that many of us own, it is crazy that nothing sans for the slings have been made plastic wise. If anyone can help repo these, count myself and a crowded bus of folks in.~SpOoKy

Mine are in great shape (knock on my head...I mean wood) but I hear ya.

My plastic just broke! It was already modded (came with the machine) in two pieces... but the top screw by the info broke off tonight All leads to a replacement plastic would be helpful!

#11 9 years ago

Another one bites the dust, sorry to hear that. Someone really should make these. Put up a post asking for someone to make these. Guys on Pinside are always making plastic pieces. That's abut the only way you'll find one. Keep us informed.

Pull it off and trace it onto a piece of PET-G and make a protector for it before you break it, these are made of unobtainium and I am amazed yours isn't broken yet.

#13 9 years ago

I do have a scroll saw. A lot easier to just buy one if someone else makes them. Time is a problem for me.

I don't know if anyone makes a protector for this piece, you might try Pinbits they may make you one if you send them a tracing.
I made one for mine when I had the game but didn't keep the template or I would make one for you.

#15 9 years ago

I'm thinking about gluing mine for now, but a protector underneath it would be beneficial. Wonder what my luck will be scouring the internet/ebay for a NOS plastic sets.

#16 9 years ago

I wonder if just using a round PETG piece on top of each post under that piece would help. That might jack that piece up enough so the ball won't hit it. I have some and have done that with other pieces on games.

#17 9 years ago

Got so lucky. Found a NOS full plastic set. However, now need to find/make a protector setup for this.

MustangPaul - think that is probably a great idea.

#18 9 years ago

A NEW SET!!!! You lucky dog! They got any more? Happy for ya.

#19 9 years ago

You're telling me! It was a for sale add I found on the KLOV forums from July that never sold. Pure luck.

#20 9 years ago

Hey tomaszb1,

Congrats on the find!!

Could you do the rest of us RCT owners a favor and get a high resolution scan of the eat/info plastic please?
I am going to have some made and will make them available to others on pinside if they turn out good.

Thanks for your help!!

Donald

#21 9 years ago

Have you guys added yourself to the Wait List on Bay Area? Have found in the past when I've done it the parts come available shortly after.

You should contact CPR and tell them what you have, they may be interested in doing the scans for a future release. I would think not many chances to scan a complete set of new unused plastics comes up very often. What a great contribution to pinball history it would make.

#24 9 years ago

The sets in the mail so I'll see what I can do/see once they come!

Sounds good. I'll keep my fingers crossed that CPR goes for it.

Send the scan. To iamdarras on here too. He can make the neon protectors. Be sweet for this game!

#27 9 years ago

Ok received the plastics. New as can be with the paper backing still on them. I don't have a scanner at home but my parents have one. Highest is 4800 DPI. Would this work?

Are there any other plastics from this set that could use a reproduction?

#28 9 years ago

If you have all the plastics you scan all of them best.
I am also looking for the 2 lower plastics.

#29 9 years ago

Thomaszb1,

Sorry for the late response. 4800dpi would be great!!

Maybe you can scan them all for us, just scan as many as you can at a time.

Let me know when you get them scanned and we'll work out how to send them across. The file size will be very large.

Also, you might have to remove the plastic to get a good scan(some sections of each piece might be clear), you can try it and see.

I'll get one made and take some pics of it in and out of my machine and post to this thread, then we can help others with missing plastics as needed. I'll figure out the cost to make them and let everyone know.

Thanks,
Donald

#30 9 years ago

Correction, you might have to remove the paper....not the plastic.

Thanks for your efforts Don.

Hey guys, sorry weather has been nasty here... starting to finally warm up. I should have some time this weekend hopefully to get the Info scanned. I guess it looks like I'll try to get all the pieces done for us. And of course, I'll remove the paper backing

#33 9 years ago

Sounds good, thanks. Going to get about 34 here today, a heat wave.

#34 9 years ago

Awesome!! You can set your scans for 600dpi. That will be sufficient for what we need to reproduce them.

Thanks,
Donald

#35 9 years ago

Finished scanning everything. Emails out shortly!

#37 9 years ago

Hey... please count SpOoKy in! I've been searching for the "eat" plastic for 19months! My kids love RCT as well as myself, but my plastic bit the dust when we first bought the pin 2 years ago. Thanks for those doing all this work!~SpOoKy ( fingers crossed!)

#38 9 years ago

PS: I've got some other NOS plastics from a bunch of other areas from RCT. If anyone else needs them made, I'd be more then happy to mail them out for scanning!~SpOoKy

#39 9 years ago

We'll see if there's any that I missed but I was told I had a full set NOS! Scanned them all today. I'm glad someone else has some NOS pieces too just in case!

Waiting on how to send the files to Donald since the files are over 20 MB compressed.

#40 9 years ago

I think I've only got a partial set but weird thing is I have Like 5 or 6 clear protectors, still with the paper backing. Did these come with the game? ( probably not). Thanks again for everyone's work on this!~SpOoKy

#41 9 years ago

All,

I got the files. Thanks tomaszb1!! I will try to convert to .tiff format and begin the process.

I'll keep you all up to date on this thread.

Thanks guys,
Donald

#46 9 years ago

Thanks
Kris

#47 9 years ago

I'm looking for the scans.
Can someone send the scans?
Or does anyone have the plastics?

please send me a PM, I will send my email through.

#48 9 years ago

Guys,

A buddy of mine has a friend in the sign business. I was counting on him to help me out but I don't think he's interested in helping. I'll have to ask around for some help with this. Anyone know where to get the material to make these ?

#49 9 years ago

Guys,

I think I found someone to help. I'll know more in a couple days and will post what I find out. I'll need a head count on how many are needed real soon.

Thanks ,
Donald

#50 9 years ago
