Is this buddy of yours looking for a working or project machine?

I live in Illinois, and I discovered one last weekend at a thrift shop. Investigating it today, it needs at least the MPU replaced (heavy corrosion) and to be thoroughly shopped. I am interested in buying it to restore myself, but as the price on it is much too high, I will make them an offer.

If they don't end up taking my offer, I will gladly pass on their information if your buddy is okay with a project machine.

Not very encouraging...

The Paragon machine is in "Consignments & More" in Kankakee, IL. The seller has it listed for $700, and from talking to him today he would possibly go down to $500.

The seller claimed that the electronics worked, but frankly the MPU board looks too corroded to believe that. The playfield has dead insects, dry-rotted rubbers, and slight evidence of mouse activity under the left upper slingshot (some small scraps of paper and insulation). Thankfully the cabinet interior did not show evidence of mouse activity. The playfield, backglass, and cabinet art seem in excellent condition, with the only exception that the left cabinet side is faded.

It has value, but I wouldn't pay even half of what he is asking for an old machine in such a state. Best of luck if anyone decides to go after it.
