Quoted from AkumaZeto:

Lotr looks like terrible with leds.

That's funny, because I think the game looks fantastic with LEDs. I have LEDs in all my games, and LOTR is easily one of the most stunning games in my collection. Of course, everyone is entitled to their opinion.

#52 11 years ago

Which LEd's dis you go with ? I want to do mine as well but I don't want to overdo it like I've heard LOTR looks with certain LEd's

#53 11 years ago

well I have Cointaker Premium Super Cool Whites in there except for RED and Green which are color matched..

so in that picture i posted thats what you see.

#54 11 years ago

When I LED my Lotr I plan on using warm whites, maybe even mini's to keep it subdued. The cool whites look great in a game like TRON, but its too blinding in Lotr.

ok thanks.

Here's a photo of mine. As I said before, I think the game looks fantastic with LEDs. The pic doesn't even do it justice ...

Super whites on white or clear inserts are blinding in any game. Put frosted in the white inserts instead.

Why do people put green LEDs under a plastic that is grey and red.....

#60 11 years ago

i think the thing that kills it on mine is that i had all white in the fellowship member inserts.. so it was too much in a close area.

like how you segmented the colors

With the clear inserts you can use any color for them, and use frosted for clear inserts, they are not as bright on the eyes.

Because the pf around the slings is green vegetation, and it helps bring out those colors. (OK, I used green incandescents on mine) Gweem's looks pretty nice for an LED game. I would add some yellow bulbs under/around the center and right ramps, and the rest of the colors look nice.

This game is awesome. Looks great, layout is fantastic.. I may actually hang onto a pinball machine for longer than a month

That looks fantastic. Since you've surrendered the title, I am now the official Wtb LOTR Chicago guy! If you come across anything please send it my way.

#70 11 years ago

That's beautiful!
I've been looking for a LOTR for just over a week and turning up nothing.
Can't wait to find one.

Congrats!

Yeah.. This stupid game is awesome.. I have a bad habit of selling games after i'm done decking them out.. so we'll see if the awesomeness of this game will keep her in the basement for a while.

Is it in poor taste to call dibs so soon?

#73 11 years ago

Damn, you beat me to the punch!

Yes, after this past weeks Canadian snafu with the inappropriate threading on 9/11, all exports of pins have been temporarily cut off for 6 to 12 weeks or until the NHL lockout ends (whichever comes later).
