I am looking to purchase an IronMan Pro within a 3 hour radius of the Chicago land area.

Let me know if you have one and are looking to get rid of it.

Thanks,

Chris

#2 11 years ago

Is that a UT logo? It sure looks like it way up in IL? Good luck in the hunt I had to go all the wat to Detroit 11 hours away and spend 4900 to get one now. Could not find a new in box Iroman last summer when a customer was willing to spend 6k for one, nobody would sell me one for 5500 shipped or within area. The people that have them now sure seem happy with IM in the house. MR BILL had one I believe

#3 11 years ago

UT it is! Thanks, Looks likes I am a few days late on one in the Detroit area. I will know next week if his deal falls through.

1 week later

As of right now, still looking........... . . .

#5 11 years ago

We are all still looking...............Keep on hounding Stern on their facebook page for a rerun when the movie comes out.

Definitely a no brainer to rerun IM. I guess instead we just get more TRON : /

#7 11 years ago

+

and tweak the game code just a little

#8 11 years ago

It needs NO code tweaking....

I agree that it doesn't *need* any tweaking, but a couple small things would make it better

They can't because the Iron monger toy is no longer available.

#11 11 years ago

Look at how in Avemgers, Stern didn't get licensing for actors photos / voices. My guess is the IM license expired, and it would be even more expensive to re-purchase, considering the success of the Avengers franchise and the making of Iron Man 3.

#12 11 years ago

Video mode for Tron please!!!!

+1

that's what I meant

with the toy I bought a stern monger as a spare and also found 2 at a local toyshop

I feel like stern should be able to find something similar to stuff in there. Lets face it, they are pretty good at cutting up toys and either zip tying them or screwing them into a pin.

#15 11 years ago

My understanding is they can't rerun IM because of licensing issues that pertain to the next/current IM suit looking different than the older one...?

Then what do you do with the MONGER inserts?

#17 11 years ago

If they would rerun and sell at current Pro prices I would donate 10 Mongers to the cause lol.
I have them in stock and some mod'd ---oh they can buy my mod sets and sell them as LE's for 7k.

I agree that the rules are sound, but I'd like them to update the instant info to include more useful information.

I love how there is always some sort of issue holding up the rerunning of the games, when in reality the only issue really is $$$$$. If there is enough in it, it will be rerun. If not, nope.

#21 11 years ago

MONGER = BADGUY

LOL

Kinda like

MEG = gingerbread MAN on Family to Shrek mini pinball

#22 11 years ago

The days of 3300 IM's are way long gone...

Yeah one slips through the cracks every great once in a while, but that is certainly the exception to the rule. but at that price you will certainly be getting a total beater...

IM's are a rarity at best now a days...

Mine is going nowhere....

I had to convince my buddy ^ to buy his recently... it was a bunch of money, but you just cant get them easily now, and it only gonna get worse...

Congrats to the lucky ones that have secured theirs, and good luck to all in the hunt....

You'll need it...

I really dont think the license is a major issue as Stern is doing Xmen and Avengers both Disney properties along with Tron being Disney and also being rerun. I think its a matter of money, Ironman Pro was sold around 4k to the lucky people who bought them and now the price point for new pins is much higher. Stern should do an Ironman LE for the new movie with some new graphics and then charge the new standard 7k price. Stern has a great rich tradition of doing reruns and milking all the money from a title. If you dont believe me look at Harley 2nd edition and even the newer Harley 3rd edition with all new graphics. It would be great if they do this for Ironman but I guess they are busy with The Pin production and Avengers.

I wish they were producing ACDC now as that is the pin more and more customers are asking for when they walk in and see it and play it. Even Hemi's Pro I just picked up is very desirable. Stern still has a great demand for this current title yet we can get enough supply. I just dont see how they could fit in any more Ironman pin production between the planned runs already announced and maybe even more Tron Pro to rerun.

I have often wondered if one of the big distribuors were to guarantee Stern a 100 sold lot with advance funding to Stern would that be enough to fill the order. I bet there is a 100 Pinsiders who would order from that lucky distributor who could pull off such a thing.

I'd venture to say that a HUO Ironman is almost as rare as a Tron LE.... you do not see IM for sale very often and the TLE is moving regularly.....

Not quite apples to apples. Tron LE's are moving because people are getting $10k +/-, nearly twice what they originally paid. If IM's were demanding that kind of money you'd see them for sale every day.

Totally apples to apples in that you see about as many IMs for sale as TRON LEs. Possibly even less IMs!

I dont think thats all of it really...

A totaly modded out IM will sooner than later be bringing that kind of money as MOST "not all " that own it hold onto it making it even harder to get...

Plus its one of the most bad ass games out !

#28 11 years ago

True, but what does it take to get an IM to move these days... $5k and not many are for sale.... is it $6k to get one to move? What is the magic number now? They where $3300 not too long ago....

I have one, but at $5k Im not selling and it looks like I am not the only one....

#29 11 years ago

I just sent my worker to MI to pick an IM up as your correct they are now hard to get and people still want them, proof is when I couldnt find one this fall for even 5500 nib. I just missed one near Atlanta that sold for 5200 new in box. I took a Pinside day off and when I logged back in it was sold, nobody would sell me one shipped for 5500 so I could then sell for 5900 I know it seems "bad" to make 400 but after tax and rent its not that much "profit" I only had a 500 deposit so in theory the customer could have backed out. They wanted a new in box only.

I felt lucky to get the one from Bill but it took my worker David over 35 hours round trip with snowy nervous driving almost the entire way, he made it ok to Grand Rapids where I made him get a motel room after getting Hemi ACDC Pro. Sorry you both had to wait an extra week for me to get them but between sickness and Holiday I was starting to get worried about finding the time to make it happen, both sellers were very easy to work with. Thanks again! Both of your pins are hits in the showroom!

Quoted from doughslingers:

I really doubt that Stern would do this. The few times that Stern came out with LEs after the fact (Avatar comes to mind), they were skewered by collectors for doing that. LOTR LE was and is considered by many to be a step down. If / when Iron Man gets rerun, expect it to be the same as the initial run or slightly downgraded... for more money.

Quoted from doughslingers:

I don't think so. From everything that it sounds like, the issue is with the bash toy, and 100 of a pin is not enough to justify the cost to redesign and reproduce the bash toy. If that could be made 500, I bet it would happen. The problem is guaranteeing 500 would be really difficult to do.

Remember, the last group to guarantee sales of 500 of one title was PinballSales.com, and it apparently is a huge reason for why Jersey Jack Pinball was created. I can't imagine that many distributors want to step up to that plate like Jack did, especially because that experience was apparently one of the huge cogs that started Jack down the road of making his own games.

I think if you put out a standing offer at $5k *and were willing to wait*, you'd get some bites. The love for this game seems semi-unique to Pinside, as a lot of people that I know don't get the attraction to it at all.

If you need it right now and you are only willing to work with Pinside, and it had to be HUO and in perfect shape, I'm guessing it would be much higher.

#33 11 years ago

Well, there ya go.. Found one...

Mine is about 4 hrs from Chicago... what's the offer to get me to let it go?

#34 11 years ago

Mine, HUO polished Brass everything, gold apron, every PF mod except for LEDs in the chest's... and LED's in the PF.

has incandecsent bulbs still... as i think the gold hugh of them compliment the machines color scheme, and the polished brass...

So outside of the 2 things mentioned above, imagine every other thing available for IM, and thats my game...

toss an 8500 offer, and you would get a NO....

I would never be able to start with another HUO example, and build this pin as it sits for under 8500...

Holy crap dude, your IM must look f'in great!

11. Cliffy RHS Ramp Protector

Out of curiosity, did anyone else make protectors for this, or did the later run games get a protector? Mine has one over there that appears factory and looks nothing like the Cliffy one, and it is a late-run machine.

#39 11 years ago

Mine is a later run with the protector.

a part from the led figures mine has all that on it - looks like a LE but not over done - love it.

over here in Aus they are tough to find as well and when they do sell are the $5.5 to $6.5k

#41 11 years ago

Iron Man FTW!

#42 11 years ago

Anyone know where I can buy a spare Monger?

Mine too...it must have been added from the factory after the right ramp kept cracking.

I found one off eBay a while ago. Not really sure if I'll ever need it, but at that time, they were starting to get hard to find. So I figured it wouldn't hurt.

Here is a guy that has everything you could possibly want...

#45 11 years ago

I talked to the wife about letting mine go for a premium price to get something else, maybe a NIB, but she refused. It's her favorite pin!

#46 11 years ago

IM was the first of the strip down era, so if it does get reran, it better be at the current pro price. There isn't anything special assembly-wise to up the cost. I'd be in at current Tron pro pricing, but not anything higher.

#47 11 years ago
Quoted from NickBuffaloPinball:

One thing to keep in mind when looking for a Monger. Try to get one that came from Stern, they are filled with a resin to handle the ball hits, if just purchasing the toy it won't be the same thing.
