I rode one in my mid twenties at a country bar and did not so good. First ride was a bit of tooth jarring but I was OK second ride was a bit better (longer and a tad faster) I remember my arm and a leg hurt afterwards. Third ride my balls got slammed pretty good and my not so good back hurt.
And at 40 you want to do this?
It's not worth it trust me.
