I am really on the fence about buying this. I think it's the coolest machine I've ever seen and has the potential to be greatest. But this would be a big investment and slightly risky for me. Would it be feasible to send a check for $1000 as a deposit and if you don't get the number needed, just send back the check. If the number is reached then cash it?

On another note, if you could change the music to what you desire, imagine if you could change the call outs and voices too. Riot Pinball couldn't sell Ralph Fiennes voice as Hades or Liam Neeson as Zues without their permission. But the owner could buy certain DVD'S and isolate sound bytes and save them to his computer, then download them to his machine. Would be damn cool to have their voices in there and you could pull their voices from movies other than Clash and Wrath of the Titans too. Or I could do my own voices through a synth, save and download. Just some food for thought.

Got that email, missed the sound byte part though
It sounds like I mail a check and it gets deposited, which is fine if production is going to happen. I understand I will get refunded my money if doesn't happen or I want my money back. My point is, why deposit it if it's not known if the project can move forward? You can just hold a check and there's no transfer fees to send it back if it doesn't, that's all.

Your right there could be a d-bag that sends a bad check. But from my point of view, if you can't trust that my money is good and I'll keep my word, why should I trust that you'll do to the same? It's just as easy to take some or all of my money and just keep it or declare bankruptcy down the road, and I'm out my money with no real recourse, as it is for me to write a bad check. Would either party really do this? I wouldn't and I don't think Riot would, but how do I know and vice versa. Is there a happy medium where both parties feel secure? And if there's a third party, they need to be trusted. I think my concern is the whole reason this didn't sell out instantly. There needs to be trust between both parties, but that is difficult with a start up company and unknown clients.

Quoted from Tangiers:

I think the point of him holding a check is that if the project were not going to continue that a check can be torn up and there would be no fees that would have been paid.

Quoted from T-800:

For those people who are interested in buying the game but are hesitant to send a check in these last couple weeks before we figure out our plans for moving forward, please email me and we can discuss your options. scott@riotpinball.com

I'll email you after I'm done work tonight Scott. Thanks.

Happy New Year all!!! Here's to hoping Scott's New Year resolution is to move forward with WOOLY production

For those on the fence about getting in on this, listen to the podcast. The 11 minute to 30 minute mark is Scott talking about the development and game play. The 30 minute to 58 minute mark is about the production aspect.
I was incredibly nervous about sending money. I've been reading the Jpop, MMr threads, and briefly about TBL. I've never bought a NIB pin and was, well skeptical. The more I read and learn about this project, the more confidence I have in it. If 25-30 more get in on this, we will have our machines. If your at all hesitant get in touch with Scott, here's very communicative and answered all my questions. Everyone who's already in on this, wants this machine bad. There's a reason for that.

If you would really like to learn about the various important characters in Greek mythology (other than reading history books), you should watch "Clash of the Gods" on the History Channel. Pretty cool show that explains in depth a lot about the various gods, demigods, monsters, etc. I liked the one with Zeus (how he came to be king even though Hades was the eldest, and how he the other Olympiads defeated the Titans) and the one about Medussa (pretty terrible story actually).

I think the difference between what Riot has and the others, is
- Code is complete. That's huge.
- Parts are ready for production and the supplier is lined up
- Playfield manufacturer (Spooky) is lined up and ready to go.
- Unlicensed theme
- Everything is ready to go except the capital to buy all the parts and start production.
The fact Spooky is involved and believes in this project is one of the reasons I got on board. They have proven they can do the job and do it exceptionally well. My $.02

FWIW I'm a B/W aficionado, they're all I really want and have no desire for any NIB pin that's out there right now. Spent a little over $2000 for my TAF and a little over $3000 for my CFTBL. I wanted WOOLY more than WH20, IJ, or TZ (my wish list pins) and was willing to spend the $8000 for it. Is it expensive....yes but Riot's not going to pump out 1000's of them, hence the high price. Does the sound and music leave much to be desired...yes, but you can change it, so who cares what the call outs and music sound like. If they decide to eventually make it, this B/W aficionado is buying it. YOMV

You don't have hire anyone. Just buy a few CDs and DVDs (and you really don't even have to do that, just download it). Even if it was the best call outs in the world, I would change to make it personalized, but to each his own. You won't be convinced otherwise and that's fine.

All I can tell you is, its 2am and I just got back from the bar. I would gladly give Riot $8k for a WOOLY. Is it worth more or less?I don't care. If it goes down in price, so be it. I want it anyway. So Scott, please make it for me.
