I turned on my NGG yesterday and after 20+ years I'm having my first problem with it. As soon as the game fires up, the Putting Green solenoid (Clubhouse Kicker) activates about 6 times then stops. I tested the optos and they are not working for this device (they were fine last time I played). I've followed the guides and checked connections, boards, etc. but everything "looks" ok.

Also, the game now resets while playing and I narrowed it down to the left orbit switch. Whenever I hit this particular switch the game will reset. I replaced the diode but the problem still exists. If the switch is unplugged I have no reset problem.

Do you think these 2 issues that started at the same time are related or is it just a coincidence?

Is it possible that the actual orbit "switch" could be bad and cause a reset?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Edit: I just put it in test mode and when I hit the left orbit switch it triggers 2 things. Before triggering the switch, it very quickly registers a "slam tilt". I see this message go by fast and there are 2 audible beeps as if I am testing 2 items.

Edit2: The Sand Trap "Adv Trap" standup target is registering both the Right Outlane and the Adv Trap target in switch test mode.

So your game is not resetting. It is slam-tilting.
And it is doing this because you have a switch matrix issue on the PF.
Make a "map" of the switches involved using the switch matrix diagram.
That will help isolate the switch with a failed diode or a connection that is not correct.
