I need to add a 5v/12v power brick to run some mods in my TOM and IJA. I could easily just plug it into the service outlet but then it's on all the time. Is there a convenient way to tap into that 120v after the on/off switch?

Thanks!

sure. just put a receptacle in on the other side of the power switch. Whack of the end of the extension cord or you can even be fancy and put a proper box in.

I move the black wire on the service outlet to the other side of the power switch.

Depending on the game, you may have a two-pin molex plug down by the transformer. This is 120v, switched for the DBV. You can create a connector, and power off of that.

Thanks for all the different tips everybody! Will figure out what's gonna suit me best.

You say a power brick. Have you thought about using something like this and some molex connectors? Very neat and clean with other empty taps for expansion.

Oh sorry that runs off 48v. Never mind.

Reason I said that was I have used these splitters and they work great off of a wall wort but I only needed 12v.

Why not pull the 12v and 5v directly from the machine? Are the Mods drawing too much?
