Hi group I have a WH2O that I had restored last year. Been playing fine but as of late at bootup the volume is maxed (or extremely loud). Thought I would post here to see if someone has had the same issue and had some suggestions of cause. I’m thinking a recap of the sound board would be a good start.

There is an adjustment of 'Volume override'.. Might want to take a look at that

Or your volume up button might be stuck lol

I had a somewhat similar issue with a getaway. My machine would randomly max out the volume(usually while I was playing a game) and I would have to shut off the machine and start it again because the volume was too high. It turned out that one of the connectors going from the transformer to the power driver board, on the power driver board, was bad. What was happening is that the voltage was fluctuating because of the bad connection and with enough voltage fluctuation, the chip that sets the volume gets confused and just goes to max. If you can consistently reproduce the problem(which was hard for me) then wiggle connectors and you might find it. You could also have a different problem but that was my problem and ive realized that those connectors are a common problem in these games so it could be that. Good luck.
