This is probably very true, but I agree with Bryan the MDF looks a lot cleaner and easier to vacuum out.

anybody got any tips for cheaper shipping... otherwise it just makes more sense to ship completed cabs on pallets for $125 with Fastenalthat wouldn't work as the cab needs to be glued and nailed/stapled together, thus ruining the decals
I think you have to separate the shipment into 3 parcels, otherwise its too heavy.
You can ship it as shelving.
Then you can get better prices, and regular shippers will handle it.
Otherwise:
I shipped an engine block on a pallet UPS LTL freight for $95, took forever.
