Which would be preferred; an original WPC power driver board or a newer Rottendog? Would having a Rottendog hurt the re-sale value or considered good because of newer components?

Depends on who is buying it. A collector would want original. A player would probably want the stability of a newer board. An original board that had been tested and repaired should be as reliable but you would want to call that out when you sell it.
I agree with cheddar. But IMO I don't think it effects the value if you keep the original borads and sell them with the pin. It should make it go up a little if you have two sets of boards. As long as the originals are in repairable condition.
I've had bad luck with Rottendog boards - parts failing inexplicably on 1-2 year old boards. I would go with an original, but that's just going on my limited experience.
I'm hoping that X-Pin comes out with one in the not so distant future. He says he has a prototype in the works now. I think his other boards are high quality so I'd assume a power driver board by them would be as well.

Side note - PinLed also has power driver boards

That's awesome news! Xpin is top-notch, and stands behind their products really well. Xpin would be my top choice once it's produced.

Here the thread where I inquired about them (X-Pin) doing WPC PDBoards

I'd think that if people would email or private message X-Pin about interest in them getting WPC Power Driver boards up and running that they may focus more on it and get it into production.
While I am happy that aftermarket boards like RD exist, I definitely prefer the OEM boards when possible.
