Sorry, prematurely posted. No signs of life on the CPU board. Dmd just gives a static line. Have tried board in TAF and Getaway. What components could I check before paying someone else to fix it?

No fuses blowing, no signs of burns.

First check the leds and if all voltages on the testpoints are there..
once you figure out what is missing (probably +5 or +12v) you can check what components are involved..

Thanks Aeneas, but I'm still learning. bear with me. I will do this now... give me a few.

Have reinstalled board. Now how do I test the test points? AC and DC seem to be getting me nothing off of test points when grounded to backboard earth.

Thanks ChrisHibler and aeneas. Too tired to see now but will look into it tomorrow. Thanks for your help. Please look out for the next cry for assistance. I appreciate your giving nature.

TP2 is dead. (Manual: AC voltage is rectified by BR2 and smoothed by C5. The voltage is regulated down by the LM323K at Q1. This 5VDC power is shown as "+5V Digital" on the schematics). I have replaced BR2 once before on same board I think. Would this be where you go next?

First check the associated fuse. Pull it and buzz it.

All fuses OK. F113 included.

I'm assuming that now I need to remove board, test BR2 and C5 with multimeter and take it from there. Yes?

Yes.
