So I picked up a TZ replacement cabinet from VirtuaPin but it came without holes drilled for the bolts that go though the cabinet, so I have to drill them myself.
I just cant bring myself to drill though the side of the cabinet for the pivot bolts. I never liked these bolts right in the middle of the beautiful side art.
Which got me thinking... Can the pivot bolts be mounted from the inside? I am thinking about welding up a bracket that holds the pivot bolts and runs down the inside of the cabinet to the bottom, and bolt that though the bottom of the cabinet.
It would obviously need some cross bracing or something to keep the bracket stable.
Has anyone done this before? Do any newer pinballs use a new pivot system that does not use bolts though the side of the cabinet? Maybe I can get some ideas on how to proceed from other examples.
Anyone think this is a good idea? or am I crazy for trying..
