I am getting a Switch error on one flipper on a early non fliptronics WPC Problem is I can see where the row and column switch is on the aux board in the base cab and can short out the correct ones to make it work in test, but how is the signal generated to send it to the aux board? kind of stumped here ( game is playing fine, I just want the damn credit dot gone)
Thanks
Gerry

Aux board? What would that be? Can you post a pic of it?
A pre-FlipTronics game, like GI, senses the flipper closure via dual 4N25 OptoCouplers on the driver board, adjacent to the flipper power relay.
This will manifest as not being able to move the cursor in one direction during HSTD entry.

Ok found the 4n25, guessing I might have a bad one there

The board pictured is the coin door interface board. That board isn't the problem.

I'd guess it's a 4N25 too. A logic probe will tell the tale. I can take care of it if you'd like. LMK if I can help further.

Maybe include issue with the switched signals of the rottendog pre feb2012 as well.

Great, this is my problem exactly, It got a Rottendog board and the flippers are switched backwards also, Ordered some 4n25's and probably won't do the mod for getting the flippers right, as GI has no video mode, it should only effect the high score initials, Thanks for the offer Chris, but you guys have really helped me get into minor board repair. this should be a easy one
Thanks for all the great info

Oh ya! Thanks zaza.
It should be a simple repair. I'd advise using a socket.
