Hey all good people.

My Indy 500 suddenly stopped launching the ball yesterday after about 15 games. The ball is pushed out to the slot to be launched into the playfield, but when I hit the launch button I hear the appropriate sound but the ball is not moving. Fast forward to the fact that solenoids 1-8 are not firing in test mode. I checked fuses and cables and voltages. Everything was checking out fine except pin #2 on J107. Pins 3 and 6 are getting the right voltage. Nothing on 2.

I pulled the board and in checking continuity from Pin J107#2 to Fuse 105, I have no continuity. As a test I checked Pin #3 to Fuse 104 and found continuity there, as expected.

In the block diagram there does not seem to be anything but traces between the points from the Pin J107 #2 and the fuse 105. Does anyone know anything different?

So the problem seems to be in the board itself. Is this fixable or can I perform some other test to determine if it is fixable or not. If not, are these boards available anywhere?

Thanks for any help you might be able to offer.

Yes, fixable

Machine OFF, unplug J107 (and J106 + J108 ), measure continuity from TP6 to all sides of fuse F103,F104,F105 and conn. J107 pin 1,2,3
Missing continuity somewhere ?

Thanks Zaza.

I can’t find TP6. I think this is the original board.

As stated in previous post there is no continuity on back side of board from J107 #2 pin to bottom of fuse.

I have the board completely out right now.

What is the fix for this?

Cracked solder joint at the fuse lug or header pin at J107. Reflow the solder at those two locations. If the trace is compromised, solder a jumper between those two points or fix the trace.

Got it. Yes, continuity every where except J107 #2 and top side of fuse 104.

Schudel5 thank you.

I am new to SS games. Learning as I go. When you say flow the joints, would that be on the back side of the board?

Also, what about no continuity on the back side to F105. Same fix?

To do this, just heat up the solder and add a tiny bit?

Ok, replace F104

(as I said in the pinballrepairgroup of FB)

Zaza, do you mean the fuse? It tests just fine. Or did you mean something else? Sorry for such basic questions.

Zaza- I replaced F104 and everything is working. I don’t really understand why.

That fuse tested good, but obviously it was not.

Everything is working.

I don’t understand how F104 relates to J107 pin 2. Is that anything you are willing to explain?

Thank you for you help.

The picture in post #2 shows that fuse F104 is directly connected to J107-2.

Quoted from Garmo:

from Pin J107#2 to Fuse 105, I have no continuity.

here it looks you measured through F104 when the leads of multimeter were on J107-2 and left side of F105 (as in picture above).

Glad to Help, time to enjoy the game
