    Hi guys:

After fuse 116 blew because there were too many lighting mods drawing on the 12V circuit (now corrected) all 3 flippers no longer work.

The flippers do work during flipper test but not during a game. In switch test, the flipper buttons do not register at all.

Would you suspect the 'fliptronics' board or the flipper opto board(s)?

What's also confusing me is how can fuse 116 blowing make the flipper optos or 'fliptronics' board stop working?

    Thanks for your help guys.

First job is get a meter and start taking measurements of the voltage rails.

It may be that you have blown up the 12V supply line?

It is created by a 1 amp regulator and this is heavily taxed by the machine - there is certainly no room to "add mods" to the 12V rail.

I would start with checking 12V on J116-2

May be different, but I had this happen on a Flintstones.
Turned out it was a right flipper opto.

    Thanks for the quick responses.

Forgot to say that 3 of the 4 fuses on the fliptronics boards had blown. Can't remember which one hadn't blown. Replaced those fuses but now flippers not working.

How can a high load through fuse 116 cause 3 fuses on the fliptronics board to fail and could this also have caused 1 or both of the flipper switch optos to fail?

Sorry, I'm lousy with reading schematics and don't understand them!
