I ran a search on this topic and came up with only two threads--one of which was a "for sale" post. Fortunately the OP listed all the part numbers--thanks Mr_Tantrum! I've done FF speaker replacements on other pins, some worked great--others were not worth the money. For less than 50 bucks a pin you can go Parts Express and improve the sound. I'd say I got a 20% improvement in sound quality--less high/mid distortion--with the bass in particular tightening up quite a bit in the White Water I just did. It really improves when you add a powered sub--the overall bass response was at least 50% better. If you really want to cut costs and installation time, just replace the cab woofer and the 5 1/4" backbox and live with the tweeter on the other side (this speaker made the least difference of all three--other than it is more clear sounding than the original. You also need to make a spacer to move this one back from the grill 1/2").
These are the current numbers if you want to give this a try on the cheap:
- 1 x Dayton Audio DC160S-4 6-1/2" Classic Shielded Woofer 4 ohm (Cabinet speaker, Part #295-308)
- 1 x Pyle Wave PLG3.2 3-1/2" Coaxial Speaker 4 ohm (Backbox Right, Part #267-716)--newer(?) version of the Pyle PLX 3.5"
- 1 x Pyle PL53BL Blue Label 5-1/4" Triaxial Speaker 4 ohm (Backbox Left, Part #267-080)
