    The sound in my Shadow is a bit scratchy and since this is a game I am keeping, I am not averse to installing a sound upgrade to dodge the issue. (I'll repair whatever is wrong too... eventually!)

    I haven't really diagnosed the problem but I am sure it is not as simple as damaged speakers.

    If I threw money at Pinsound or something like it, would that replace *all* the sound hardware? Or would part of the original analog signal chain still be in use?

    (I know all or a lot of these products let you install custom sounds -- that isn't a selling point to me, I just want to make the best of the original sounds.)
