So I've been repairing a Terminator 2 with reset issues. The game also starts a game on it's own sometimes and may have a few other odd switch issues. I'm getting a solid 5.1 to the CPU board J210 and 4.88v after the diode at the watchdog, cpu, and ram. I worked through the whole PinWiki on resets too. So I'm now looking over the whole CPU board. There was rework done on U19 so I'm checking every pin for correct connectivity.

While doing this I discovered the schematic diagram I have for U19 appears incorrect. I searched the forum for U19 R33 and got no hits.

It seems R33 and R34 are reversed. R63 and R65 are also reversed. Since R33 & 34 are just pull up resistors it's not really an issue unless you are trying to fix or repair a board and going just off the schematics. Not sure about R63 & R65 though. R63 goes to switch row 7 and R65 goes to switch row 8. Those switch rows do appear to be working right for me - at least most of the time.

I'm assuming this is known in the community?

U19
Pins
1 R34 (should be R33)
2 R33 (should be R34)
3 VCC
4 U16:6
5 R63 (should be R65)
6 U16:6
7 R65 (should be R63)
8 U16:6
9 R61
10 U16:6
11 R59
12 GND
13 R31
14 R32

The schematic is known to have some errors - I don't remember if those resistors were included in the error list.

But if the board has been originally working, the problem is probably elsewhere.

Disconnect the switches from the MPU, then power up and see if those same problems appear. If they do, the problem is certainly on the board. If not, the problem could be elsewhere.

Thanks to you both.

Tuukka I figured as much. But this may help someone down the line trying to replace some components and having issues.

ForceFlow - that was next on my todo list. Well, actually I was going to disconnect the physical start switch on the door. But unplugging it from the board makes more sense. If it's fine unplugged then I can check the wiring & door switch. Thanks.

Very helpful and actually matches what I’m seeing, thanks.
