So I have a CFTBL after changing some LED's the game will not start. It's in free play and the switch is registering in switch test. Yet I cannot start a game???

Game has to see all the trough switches too. And I'm pretty sure Creature is WPC not that it matters.

#3 6 years ago

Yes sorry WPC I'll check trough switches

#4 6 years ago

Seem as though all trough switches are registered any idea how to test other than switch tests?

Would you mind posting a picture of the CPU board (bottom left board)?

Did you put both balls back into the game?

Do all coils work in solenoid test ?

#9 6 years ago

It's possible the start button wire is getting pinched when you close the coin door to start a game. Do a switch test and test both with the door open and closed.

SO i thank everyone for their advise unfortunelty none of this worked I ordered a new MPU board as i am very fearful this is the issue. I accidentally seated the connector that has the wires of the start button off by one and i was able to start the game, when reseating it properly went back to its old ways i am going to try the new board and see if thats the issue (same cost as my local tech service call) and i will advise further

Thx

I would suspect a power / connectivity issue before an mpu issue, especially with no lights or display, and double especially when you say there was a difference when you offset a connector.

I'd start by checking to see if the other side of that connector is also off position.

Then I'd unseat and reseat all connectors on the power board and mpu, inspecting for loose wires and shorts.

Then I'd go through the test points and check voltages.
