Just picked up a WPC-95 CPU for my AFM. It's used and is missing the CPU, ASIC, ROM and security chip which are all available.
The previous owner added a diode and a wire jump as shown below. Anyone have any idea what was being accomplished here?

I'm aware of that - I said THE JUMPER ACROSS the diode - looks to me that it's shorting out the diode in that picture but maybe not?
Anyway, if the OP follows the factory mod he should be right.

Yes, the wire jumper does short out the diode, which is very strange and defeats the purpose of installing the diode.
