Just picked up a WPC-95 CPU for my AFM. It's used and is missing the CPU, ASIC, ROM and security chip which are all available.

The previous owner added a diode and a wire jump as shown below. Anyone have any idea what was being accomplished here?

You might need to get rid of the jumper across the diode? - I would heed the service bulletin and adjust the mod according to whatever it says.

Great, thank you both very much. I'll read the service bulletin now.

    [edit]: nevermind, I misread that

    Quoted from ForceFlow:

No, the diode is part of the modification.

I'm aware of that - I said THE JUMPER ACROSS the diode - looks to me that it's shorting out the diode in that picture but maybe not?

Anyway, if the OP follows the factory mod he should be right.

Yes, the wire jumper does short out the diode, which is very strange and defeats the purpose of installing the diode.

I suspect the original tech didn't know how to follow the service bulletin. I just reviewed the service bulletin and it *IS* a bit confusing if you don't understand what it's doing. The diagrams provided are not the greatest way to show it, but the words are fine.
