happens twice on this recording at 13 seconds and at 26 seconds.

This on my SS. you can hear the loss of sound, the noise and then it seems that the audio part of the board resets, no problems with the DMD driver part.

I have check the audio voltages, I get +4.9v from U7 and -4.95v from U8.

Any ideas on where to look for the cause from here?

A good person to ask is Rob Anthony. His handle on here is borygard. He does WPC board repair and is an expert on that sound board. give him a PM he can point you in the right direction.
