I just aquired a RR75 woz, 200 games with old code on it.

Booted up fine , but wanted to update before playing.

Downloaded the latest 6.06, and also the 661 delta, on the same USB stick.

Plugged it in after the update prompt , and nothing since ..

Left it for a good while, finally turned it off, and back hoping for the best, but no joy.

JJP intro screen, purple Ubuntu , then black

Anyone with suggestion?

JJP intro means motherboard is working.

I'd start over. New download of 6.06, be sure you follow the full install instructions. And try a different memory stick.

The download, how you did it, or the memory stick. Most likely one of the three caused this.

Also I'd have nothing else on the memory stick than the 6.06 when you redo it.

Okay, three USB sticks down and a few more to go..

Downloaded the full update file again, started the Unetbootin flash, but every time it just stops at 29 of 69 files to be extracted from the woz iso file.

Kind of hard to proceed further . I will try another mac or pc to see if my luck changes

It didn't stop. Some of the files like #29 are huge. Leave it keep running. It can take a long time to put on a memory stick.

Really, longer than 45 minutes?

I will leave it overnight then.

Thanks again, patience is key I guess

I’m not too familiar with JJP updates, but if you’re not doing this already; Download it straight to your PC, extract files, then copy to your flash drive.

A good 20 to 30 minutes depending on your computer.

After some searching the issue has been resolved.

A combination of bad luck and ultra slow computers.. The USB extension cable from the pc that is routed towards the coinbox had been pinched between the box and the wood panel its tie-wrapped to

This caused intermittent connection , not good during a full update obviously. It also kills your USB stick .

After plugging in directly it took the update and is purring away again.

Thanks lloyd for your help !
