What's a fair price for the 1.0 mod on the used market? Keep in mind, the market is about to be flooded with 250 of them.

Whatever people are willing to pay. I doubt there will be 250 of them though. Lot of people missed out that had 1.0.

I am offering my very limited, lovingly hand crafted and hand painted work of playfield art know as the Gouveia Witch 1.0 for sale at USD 200(NA shipping included.)
There are thousands of WOZ machines and only ~350 Gouveia witches (v1 & v2 combined.)
Those seeking witches are encouraged to review all witch alternatives.
There are many others but only a small minority are the original, the Gouveia.

A Picasso or Monet that has been in your collection for a couple of years will not depreciate.
Neither will a Gouveia.

I just want to make sure that others reading this at a later time don't get the wrong idea. I agree that Steve's monkey is extraordinary and capable of seemingly impossible feats.

Wasnt it $200 when u bought it new? Its now used and there's a better 2.0 version. Dont you think its value has lessened?

I realize im asking this question in a thread full of people who will likely be trying to sell their 1.0 when they get their 2.0.

If it was a factory stamped out mass produced mod I would have to agree with you. But this is a limited run hand made work of art. Like other art it just doesn't/won't depreciate. The reason it was worth 200 + shipping then is the same reason it is worth 200, if not more, today.

Don't forget replacing your tube with this witch greatly enhances the beauty and optic appeal of your WOZ. Every time you look at your machine with your Gouveia you are gonna get stoked all over again and it will definitely help you sell your machine if you ever have to.

Every mod I have from Steve is in a class of its own, head and shoulders above the rest.

If your lucky you get what you pay for. A Gouveia original is where you get more than you pay for.

I am not so full of myself to think that my opinion is the only one. Those of you that think your Gouveia mods are now worth less or even worthless, please post and share your opinion.

As you said, wrong place to ask that question as all answers will be biased. Upgraders will try to recoup their costs as much as possible. Definitely a few over-the-top fanboys in here too .. When you start comparing to Rembrandt or Picasso then you need to get out to museums more.. just pulling your chain fnosm

I'd say be patient and wait 1-2 months when more folks will have received their 2.0 witch. If buyers aren't jumping on the 200$ used witch then prices will be adjusted accordingly. Of course the opposite could happen and folks fighting over the few witches that will be available will actually raise the price higher.

As with everything in life, supply and demand. If you think something is too much money dont buy it. Its really simple really.

When the time comes (I am in the 30's on the list), I will be selling my 1.0 for $200 as well. I guess we will see if the demand lessens which may in turn drop the going price, but I don't think that will happen. There are not many of his witches out there and plenty of machines. There are lesser witches, but to each their own. Selling for the original $200 price is not gouging, it is fair and just moving the witch to a new home with no markup. Prior to 2.0 coming out, I saw several witches sell for $500 plus which is crazy!

Selling mine now for $190 shipped in the USA.

1.0 already at $190 and probably only up to around #10 sipped on the 2.0 list.

I predict $50-75 shipped by the end of the 2.0 run.

I also enjoy the people who want something for cheap and don't like to hear that it may be worth more than they had hoped, but continue to convince others they are right. By all means, hold out till someone will sell theirs for what you are looking for.

Well, you have several people who have posted they are willing to sell for 190-200 shipped or plus shipping. Not sure what else you want. If no one buys them, the price will go down. If they are snatched up quick that will be the going rate. Just because the mods are "old 1.0" and "used" doesn't diminish the value. Just ask anyone who owns a BBB.

Friendly advice: Why not just post up a want ad and state what you want to pay? Seems a lot easier then being offended that people don't agree with your point of view.

When the time comes, mine will be for $200 and that is just to make it available if someone wants one. If not, then I will keep it. I am not going to sell it for less because I don't need to sell it, and I have no problem keeping it as a piece of art. If someone wants to sell theirs for $50, they can have at it, but I highly doubt that will be the case.

Okay, I have to ask...Steve...you have to have thought about how many hours you have put into just creating the final witch 2.0. So...would you care to guess how many hours of work you put into its creation? I am curious as to how many you think it took. If you don’t want to answer, that’s cool. It’s just my math side of me wanting to know.

I just got my witch installed today and it is sweet! Now it's the witching hour over here.

One tip that I'd like to mention to everyone. When you remove the cryogenic chamber and the plate underneath it, before you install the red smoke, I recommend that you change out the rubbers on the posts beneath that plate (the posts to the left and right of the switches underneath the witch).

I say this from experience. I installed the entire new witch. Everything was working great. I got all the wires zip tied and cleaned up nicely underneath. Then I put the playfield back down, and I see a rubber rolling down the playfield. And, of course, it had cracked and come off of the post directly under the witch.

So, I had to take the whole thing off again, far enough so that I could access that post to replace the rubber.

All is good now, though. Got everything put back together and the witch is great!
