Please, you have no idea what some of us that missed out would do to a chicken for your sweet, sweet monkey.

It sold at charity auction for $375. I almost bought it, but it was over 7ft tall. Lol

almost the same price as the mod shipped
Quoted from gouveia:Hey everyone! I decided to switch it up for the last sixty of you on the list and get the hardest technical part out of the way first. All of these wings are spring-loaded and ready to go!

Wow! Impressive art!

They look great! I hope I get to see one in person one day (and maybe even own one if you open the list again).

Pretty Picture! Great lighting for pic.
Blue lite in the game room, interesting. Never considered that. Can we get a pic of your game room under the blue lite?
Interesting? Really? Blue light is the best! It photographs glowing things better than UV and doesn’t hurt your head after extended periods. Plus, I just think it looks neato.
Creature of habit I guess. As a kid they were always under the neon lite. Never considered anything else.
Hmmm maybe this is the "change" Bill Clinton talked about in the 92 campaign. Now I am more accepting ....

All-you-can-eat monkey wings...
Quoted from gouveia:I’ve got one of those led remote strips across the ceiling. I’ve always just settled on blue because I like it. Maybe for Christmas I’ll switch it up. [quoted image]
Kip's big boy! Awesome!!
There is a nearby antique store with a Kip's big boy that I keep meaning to ask about.

Steve is a west coaster... That would make it a Bob's Big Boy.
I remember traveling across the US when I was a kid and I know there were at least 4 or 5 different Big Boys based on geographical areas of the US. I only remember 3 of the names which were Bob's Big Boy, Kip's Big Boy, and I think Shoney's Big Boy. I suppose I could google them, but cant remember the other names right now or where they were. I cant remember what area Shoney's were in either... getting old. Lol

Quoted from gouveia:I remember Azar's Big Boy on the way to Vegas. A long, long. time ago...
They were named regionally. I'm not sure how many there were, but a few different "named" big boys were around. In my area, it was Kip's.

We had Shoney's in St. Louis.
Quoted from gouveia:Yoda’s Big Boy?!?! YODA’S?! The internet is amazing.[quoted image]
I've heard of bobs, kips, shoneys, and I think it was freschs...but I've never heard of yoda's!
I guess the force was with him.

Frisch's Big Boys are still here in the Cincinnati area. Are they the only ones that put Tarter Sauce on the Big Boys?
Quoted from bobukcat:Frisch's Big Boys are still here in the Cincinnati area. Are they the only ones that put Tarter Sauce on the Big Boys?
There are still 3 Bob's Big Boys left in Southern California. There used to be tons of them back in the day. As for the big boys, the default on the West Coast is their red relish. You can order it "Chicago Style" and they put thousand island on it instead. I have never heard of the tartar sauce on it though. Not sure that is a thing out here, although it sounds interesting! I would be up for trying it... But I do love the red relish sauce they use.
Quoted from gouveia:Yes. Sadly, they are mostly a relic of the past. But this one near Warner Bros. studios is still keeping the flame very much alive.[quoted image][quoted image]
Ate at the warner bros one a while back. Really good. Had a dessert that was really good. Lava cake or something?
This thread is now a discussion about salad dressing. I can see people draining it in droves. Hahahaha.

Hot Fudge cake. So good. Best chocolate whip shakes too. So thick, a straw won't work.

Yep. That’s the stuff!
Before we got older and fatter we would occasionally make home-made Big Boys with the tarter sauce on them, thankfully we bought it a lot cheaper locally!

This must be the Yoda's one! The thread was about flying monkeys so this seems like a very relevant tangent.
