Are there any trick or tips to fixing this? Over the years I have reseated the RCA cables with mixed results but never found an actual fix to just the voice sounds.

Find the pink input Jack on the back side of the sound board. Pull out the male 3.5mm cable plugged in there. Then push it back in but not all the way flush - pull it out about 1/16 of an inch and leave it there - you can feel the spot where it will sit and stay firmly. That will bring the voices back up again.
