After looking at the pictures, it certainly seems feasible that a few could start shipping as early sometime in December. It just depends on how much software is done, fixing mechanical design issues, finishing touches such as the crystal ball, and whether all of the parts are available yet

Quoted from vid1900:

I thought Stern got their coils from CC in Chicago.
JJP is using Williams hardware, so the complete Chinese made assemblies are available from several vendors cheap:
http://www.pinballlife.com/index.php?p=product&id=172
No big deal either way, if I can assemble a flipper assembly in 2 minutes - then someone who does it all day long can probably do it in 1.

Chinese made? Really? You have no idea what you are talking about. Our flipper assemblies are 100% manufactured in the USA; the coil, the plunger, the link, the pawl, the nylon bushing, the coil stop, the coil bracket, the EOS switch, the grommet, the base, the spring, everything. Everything.
Terry.

#103 11 years ago

I'm shocked! Something is still made here in the USA?

That's good to know!

Where is your "MADE IN USA" Flag and Label?

Nothing on your website stating country of origin either.

I mean, maybe somebody named ROC packed this bag, but when I see a label like that, I think Republic Of China, LOL.

F$&&k why is it i gravitate towards the bull&&t forms wher when you ask a real question or state a real fact it gets glossed over? Over to RGP to see what its all about, begining to think im on the bull$&&t yuppie form with no real info. Answer my question about the blade connectors and how you feel about 2% lost on your investment over three years. This is not a JJP attack either, im stoked for the guys and everyone who has one on order,, but damn..., dont gloss over a question or fact with more of what we know is going to happen...ppfftt..

#106 11 years ago

And damn it already..., if i had one on order, based on where they are at right now, i wouldnt expect to see mine at my door step until middle of next summer....., i know some have waited a while, but give it a rest..., let them build the damn machine and just wait it out. Like i said i'd love to be in your shoes, and if i was i'd be keeping my mouth shut and just waiting, checking out progress, and hopeing for a great game in the end, which im pretty sure it will be.

Maybe no one answered because no one knows yet. Demanding an answer won't magically give
people years' worth of experience with WOZ-style blade connectors in order to say whether they were a good or bad idea. At first blush, they're fantastic for service and assembly.

And I'm not sure what calendar you're using, but right now we stand at 22 months. Not 36. (You state 2% interest for 3 years is a $400 "loss"). And even then, people have only had to be fully paid up for about a year.

If you don't have one on order, you really have no valid reason to tell anyone else to "keep [their] mouth shut" and "just wait it out". And even if you did have one on order, you could only speak for
yourself.

What bank are you getting 2% every month?...this place is hopeless..., good god...2% APY is above average in a savings account. That was a gift..., S$$t im in the wrong bank..

Perhapps you are right with the blade connectors, i just wondered what people thought about them since i though about useig them a long time ago but ditched the idea. Wasnt looking for an answer, just an opinion.

#109 11 years ago

Nor did i say "keep your mouth shut", i just stated what i would do had i one on order...

#110 11 years ago

As far as the blade connectors go, they been around for a while, there is a reason why builders in the past used them is some places but not others. I picked up on that pretty quick, might not be an issue with home use but if your going to release a game to the wild, you need it to be as realiable as possible, which is why i didnt convert my game to these even though they are a nice idea.

I'm not sure I get this response. 2% is your figure, and interest is calculated yearly (but typically compounded monthly). You are the one that earlier said:

Quoted from pinstyle:

Some things i have thought about though is 2% on $6500 over three years is about $400. Not so much a deal if they dont spit these out soon.

So, you were saying (and please correct me if I'm wrong) that anyone that's had $6500 paid up for 3 years in order to obtain the $1000 preorder discount, has lost $400 (versus sticking it in a bank at 2% interest)... and is thus only really saving $600 versus waiting and ordering later at normal price.

However, I worked it out for you.

If you ordered on January 15th, 2011, and then followed the exact payment schedule as required by Jack at the time, and making your final payment on December 15th, 2011 as stipulated... if such a person only receives their game mid-April 2013, then by spending the $6,500 versus waiting and spending $7,500 on an ECLE later on, they will have earned the equivalent of 8.85% interest on their investment. That does beat a bank.

#112 11 years ago

22 months? Feels like a decade with all the talk on here. My advice would be to sit and wait, check the updates and be glad your are on a list to receive what will most likely be a ground breaking game. Even if its just in terms of build qualitly itself in how the game is designed and who its designed by.

Though if i were on the list id be more and more looking at that 1.5% or whatever crap a savings account is giving us these days and id be a bit worried if it doesnt come out soon...., like within a year from this date.

#113 11 years ago

i see what your saying, of coarse if you were making payments it would work out different. Im assuming full payment at the earliest date...., just something i thought about, not to cast a negative vibe over JJP..

#114 11 years ago

Sorry bud, i misread your first post. I think this WOZ craze is even starting to get to me...., and im not even on the list.

Ehhh, i'll leave the post..., it give some drama for people to read while they eat a sandwich at what might be a boring job..

#115 11 years ago

Just imagine if you actually had ordered back in January 2011, like me! That's a looong wait...

Holy cow! Are you dude number 1? Ha ha..anyways, yes it is a long time to wait but as many have said before, tis to be expected with what you bought into. Hang tight, i think your one of the many lucky, games looks really cool and i like the diagnostic and test modes from what i saw, ground breaking stuff just right there alone.

They do show much more than we have seen before. To get this thread back on topic since it was sidetracked quite a bit by one poster, here is the link to the pictures again:

He hand painted all of those cabs 2 hours before the photo shoot, and the backbox warning text is his normal handwriting.

Whether it is or isn't, how does anyone know YOUR product is made in the USA?

Your website does not state this.

Your packaging does not state this.

Your invoice does not state this.

Have some pride in the USA and let the people know!!!!!!!

If the product or packaging is NOT marked with any country of origin, it is made in the USA if made and sold in compliance with commercial & consumer trade regulations. Made in USA is an optional statement.

So all that playfield rubber that is not marked, yet is made overseas is illegal?

I thought only clothing and food had to be marked?

#132 11 years ago

I think what people are forgetting is that Jack did say that they were having the manufacturers do MORE so they would have to do less. Having the cabinet makers apply the art, the metal guys delivering full assemblies instead of parts, etc. It's possible that when they get shipments in hand from their suppliers, they may be able to turn them into assembled games much more quickly than Stern...or at least at the same kind of pace. Might not require as many people to do so either...

Not to stir the pot, but...

Vid1900, did you already know that pic was not Pinballlife's product? Cuz if you did, then shame sir!

Maybe do some product placement research before condemning a business. I'm guilty of the same mistakes...

I was not condemning any company AT ALL.

I was showing that some flipper rebuild kits appear to be made in China (or packed by "ROC", and that makes people think "Republic Of China").

So there is going be be confusion with the buying public if a company, selling a identical looking product, does not label their product as MADE IN USA.

I have rebuilt 1000s of flippers, and if I did not know that PL sold American made rebuild kits, how would ANYONE know?

When I've been there I'm usually watching Terry and the guys build them if that helps.

I just would love if he shows some USA pride and puts it on his packaging and/or website.

That is of course they get the parts from their suppliers. It's been a struggle for Jack and probably will always be one to find suppliers that are reliable. We all know Jack waited all summer for parts from suppliers because they were on vacation or they had other commitments.
