WOZ doesn't really make sense. Usually we use the first initials but the Z is the last initial. So technically shouldn't it be WoO? Wizard of Oz or maybe WoOZ Wizard of Oz.....But WOZ, are we dropping the of and adding OZ? Just doesn't work. Vote for your choice.

WOZ seems fine.

WoO seems better for Wrath of Olympus

Once an acronym/abbreviation becomes generally accepted for a game, it's hard to change it. There's plenty of oddball examples where the letters aren't always the first letter of each word.

SWEP1 comes to mind, for example.

A few others: WH2O, BIBLE, BOP (The title is actually "The Machine: Bride of Pinbot"), ID4, MAV, R&B, ...probably a few more

I argue that we were all wrong and WoO is much more fun and better!

Rebuttal: PotC: Pirates of the Caribbean.....for example, would say Wizard of Oz should be WoO, don't dismiss the argument......

I am drawing a line in the sand, from here on out I shall refer to my Wizard of Oz and WoO. "Hey Man, wana go play WoO"? "Yeah man"

Slow night on Pinside. Woz is accepted and makes perfect sense. Move along....

When I give my hard earned cash to Pinside, this thread isn't one of the ones I imagine them spending bandwidth for.

I may be wrong but I thought in the case of WOZ it was JJP (Keith or Jack) that said they wanted WOZ to be the abbreviation.

If that is the case I bow to them.....otherwise my argument stands

Fine Wacky you win. But, as a concession to Pinside, from this point forward you'll be referred to as: DA

WOZ is fine as is.

Dialed In! is an interesting case, as it is typically referenced as either DI or by model - DICE, DILE & DISE. At first blush, these abbreviations don't appear to even be the same game. However once you've see them written, it is hard not to just use the model acronym instead of the shorter DI as it conveys much more info.

Rules are meant to be broken. Rob Zombie Spookshow International is technically RZSI, however most people prefer the longer RZSSI or shorter RZ. Sometime I like using RZ$$I.

I still think WoO is correct

Yes, you are correct, but everyone is still going to call it WOZ. Feel better?

No

For what it's worth, I agree with you. I refuse to call it "WOZ", but I say "OZ". I'm outnumbered here at work, though.

My code commit comments look like this:

Oz - (bugfix) Skill Shot, Toto Escapes: fixed lamp effect for success [regression bug]
