Jersey Jack Pinball has announced that the WOZ will ship on March 13, 2013.

#3 11 years ago

This has been refuted by Jack in the WOZ newsgroup

#5 11 years ago

saw this on facebook if its on the internet it must be true.

#6 11 years ago

#7 11 years ago

No he didn't.

Where did Jack debunk this?

In the WOZ newsgroup that is exclusive to WOZ buyers.

Thought it was March 2014

It was just another writer that does not bother to get all the facts right. CNN and Foxnews do it everyday and nobody gets fired.

must be a typo.

#16 11 years ago

Is the code going to be finished by then? That is the only date that matters.
Shipping with incomplete code just makes it another Stern.

#17 11 years ago

Nuff said, someone in Jacks organization, or as Crash says, some incompentent writer has blown this one.

I hear alot of us on Jacks side, but the fact is it takes alot to put out a good complete machine, especially a goundbreaker....I just hope he can get realistic about release date....Hobbit 2016 i said on another post...might have been optomistic...very frustrating for those of us wanting Jacks next few machines already...and yes Jack please release when code is done...(hopefully before xmas)

#20 11 years ago

Here is Jack's quote from his site regarding March 13th:

"I told Nick we announced production last March 13th and with all the
delays I would hope that we are shipping by this March
13th......that's what I said.....what he wrote is something else."

Looks like everyone is excited over nothing. Unbunch your panties guys.

If I learned one thing in all my years in the Restaurant business its this.

Better to wait for something thats great than to rush something mediocre.
People only remember the great experience and forget the wait in the first case. Its the opposite in the second.

That would likely be Nick Montano of Vending Times.

"Jersey Jack's The Wizard Of Oz Pinball Ships On March 13; Development Of The Hobbit Begins"

Nick Montano
[email protected]

"LAKEWOOD, NJ -- After more than two years of meticulous labor, The Wizard of Oz flipper game is making its final journey along the road of yellow bricks here at the Jersey Jack Pinball factory, where the assembly line in now running at full speed. The first production models of the eagerly awaited pinball machine will be crated and dispatched on March 13, according to the Jersey Jack chief executive."

Also from the article...

"Because the test games are not equipped with the final circuit boards, the pinball machines are working at only 30% of full programming capacity. Jersey Jack developed a prototype board for its test games; it can also be temporarily installed into production models. The factory is expecting to receive its main boards by late February."

That is the most sorry ass reporting right there. I am so sure the boards are the reason the programming is not finished. Yeah right.

The reason I quoted that paragraph is because it said boards weren't due until late Feb and the headline said games are shipping Feb 13th. I don't think the author meant to imply that the software was being held back by the proto hardware. More that the proto hardware wouldn't run more than 30% of the software. I could be wrong.

Imagine if a ship date was never announced yet.........

When Jack says "I hope" I don't feel real good about the chances. Looks like he will miss his last estimate of late February. It's starting to look more and more like mid to late summer.

Jack also said that he has 30 more people added to the LE waiting list. Another missed deadline and more people added to the waiting list. How convenient.

The prototype hardware is certainly capable of running more software than is in the machine, whereas the author implied that the prototype hardware was not capable of handling anymore than very basic software.

Ask those who bought Duke Nukem Forever how that turned out for them.

And yet Shigeru Miyamoto still did something right.

#35 11 years ago

I understand the need for patience so they can give the game their best effort, but sooner or later you gotta deliver.

#36 11 years ago

So does that mean a finished WOZ will be at the TPF ??

Wii Music?
