I'll make those adjustments this weekend, play a few games, see how it behaves and report back.
It is the bottom part of the metal bracket that the arm actually rests on when down, don't bend it too much or the arm won't be down far enough to stop a fast ball from pushing it up and shooting through.

2. Either the arm or the balls are magnetized. If I place the ball under the arm (no coil power), there is defintely an attraction there. I suspect this is a contributor to the next ball release issue to.

The balls are magnetized, replace them and be sure not to use any "super shiny" or mirrored, etc. - those become magnetized too easily.
