Was in the area of Playdium in Mississauga today and thought I would spend my lunchtime playing some pins. I head back to the pin area and whoa, there is a thing of beauty that I've only seen online before...WOZ!! Unfortunately, while it was turned on and lit up, the card sniper wasn't working to play it. I asked a maintenance guy when it would be ready to play, but he wasn't sure.

I resigned myself to playing Tron for the first time (I see what the buzz is about-fun pin), IM (at first I thought it sucked, but after a few plays it grew on me), BBH (did not enjoy at all, the Elk target annoyed the crap out of me), and SM (fun game despite some wonky flipper action). Interesting while I was playing SM located a few machines down the bank from WOZ, the number of people checking out the game, taking pictures, buzzing about it. It is the sexy new chick at the bar. Hopefully they get it playing soon as I am excited to try it out...it looks amazing.

Was there any other way to play it or is the card sniper the way to pay there?

That's gotta be a sinking feeling...

Playdium is a big entertainment centre with video, redemption, virtual reality, pinball etc. where you load a plastic card and swipe to play---it takes 5 credits/.85 cents per play on pinball. They had the swiper on the front but it wasn't working try as I may to swipe my play card over and over again in futility. The monitor on the pin itself was posting 1 swipe, 1 play. I'm going to try and get back there on Friday to see if it is up.

Sniper...LOL swiper got sniped by auto correct.

It should be noted that there are TWO Playdiums in the Toronto area.

#1: The Playdium entertainment center. Pay to play like any other entertainment center.

#2: The Playdium Store, formerly and confusingly also currently known as Starburst, the major Canadian coin-op distributor and operator. They own the Playdium entertainment center. This is essentially the ONLY place in Canada to buy Stern (and now JJP) machines. You can get Stern elsewhere, but they came from here. They have a showroom that's open to the public, and all pinball machines are set to free play.

I was told there is a WOZ at the Playdium Store as well.

I miss that city! I am in/from Michigan but spent years in Kitchener, Ont for work (automotive). My family would come up to see me and we would go to Toronto. CNN tower, Wonderland Park to the north(I think that was the name?) Niagara Falls! In fact I think I started a thread about Niagara here or added to one. My wife bought a Groupon package April 2012 and we went there and it was great! No kids this time!
