I'm not sure how close you have followed WOZ threads, but the level of maturity and negative comments from amateur comedians, most of whom likely do not understand the rule set (Or played the game much with said rule set), is way beyond any subject on pinside. Don't let it get to you, there are still an infinite amount of threads and potential threads to get the negative that so many feel is needed.

Why is it necessary? Because JJP has team members that are willing to post on the topic now and again. This was likely an attempt to keep them around. If there was an internet forum where people heavily ridiculed your work, how long would it be before you defaulted to "fight or flight"?
As a side note, much of the bashing of WOZ makes those people look like fools. In time more and more people will gravitate to WOZ. I think the game appeals the most to noobs and hardcore players, it will take more time for the middle of the road pinheads to get into it.
Oh yeah, did I mention I also like Tron?

You can't just make generalizations like you are, implying that it is only the people who criticize JJP who "egg people on, call people liars" and make "trolling comments". It's just not a fair statement, when plenty of it has come from the overly enthusiastic JJP supporters, some of whom can't take any criticism of JJP or WOZ without feeling that they are being bashed, called liars, or are being trolled.
One of the big differences in the bashing one way or the other, is that it was a very painful wait, and wait, and wait... for our games. On top of that, there have been major concerns.....you know all the rest. Meanwhile, people constantly poking the bear. It does not take an excel spreadsheet guru to notice an exorbitant amount of baiting going on. Don't be intellectually dishonest.
Can I take criticism of a game I own? Sure. Can I also tell people what I don't like about it?....Yep, The GI, the theme is not TWD, It took forever to get, I was not happy with the order of games received, there might be some more gripes. At any rate, I am extremely happy with it now, and the way it turned out.
I can take criticism of any game, but I can also defend any game. Its a two way street Mr. T.
