Quoted from TaylorVA:Does it address just the locking up of inserts or also the blowing of boards? Mine does both. Yippee.
I'm pretty sure you're screwed until you get a new power supply

Quoted from TaylorVA:according to JJP it is not an issue with the power supply. I have added a line conditioner to WOZ to take out any power fluctuations on my end.
How did you add this? Between the wall and the game? Or in the 5v after the lighting power supply? Has it helped?
Quoted from lowepg:Funny that jack jumps into other threads and gets into a pissing match with folks- but avoids threads like these?
Btw- agreed with some of what he said- but then he ruins it by getting pissy.
Lol- oh well.
Maybe he avoids threads like these because:
1) everyone gets up in arms and has an emotional coronary every time he posts something
2) this is the business of owners who can read in his forums not here where all the trolls that didn't even buy the machine to comment.
You people have made Pinside an extremely hostile place for anyone making a pinball machine to hang out. Then staff bans people like Alex and that just leaves a bunch of whiners that can only complain about code and prices. Its a shame.
I think the machines that were burning through boards had power supply issues. My game had been solid since the new oiwer supply went in.
Quoted from TaylorVA:I asked JJP about it and they said it wasn't the power the supply. With how random it is from game to game it certainly makes sense if it has to do with the power coming out of the outlet not being "clean" enough for the tolerances the boards have.
I haven't changed anything other then the power supply and everything stabilized. I was blowing 7v boards every game before. I can say that in my game, it was the power supply. I like the power conditioner idea.
Quoted from TaylorVA:Did you swap to 7v boards from 5v boards?
You have to after doing a power supply swap otherwise all the 5v boards will blow up from being driven by 7.5v. But before swapping the power supply I had many 7.5v boards already in and they were blowing up also. In fact, whatever I put into 15 would blow up after every skill shit or extra ball animation 7.5v or not. The new power supply solved it.
Maybe I should mount the conditioner inside the machine and run a new power cable from conditioner to wall. They way it's just part of the woz.
Quoted from TaylorVA:Anyone dale have bright flashes when hitting the right flipper button? I've had this happen twice now. Posted to JJP forum but figured I'd ask here as well.
Where are those flashes coming from?
Quoted from TaylorVA:No idea but it didn't happen again the rest of the night.
Like were they from the LEDs? Or flashes from inside the cabinet?
