Sounds like a good temporary solution. Since the redesigned boards have voltage regulators built into each of them, putting a regulator at the source is just mimicking one of the fixes that JJP had been doing. I got one myself even though my machine is working fine now. Better safe than sorry.

You should. Mine works perfectly and it's awesome. And I think most people's machines are working perfectly now as well. Less than ten people with chronic problems as far as I can tell from this site and the JJP site, and the tech folks over there are on it on a case by case basis.
