By the time Chinese Democracy was finally released nobody cared anymore.

#3 7 years ago

lol. That rocks......

#4 7 years ago

I like it!

I actually liked the album as well, but the hype was in the stratosphere...

#5 7 years ago

Please tell me Buckethead is not involved in WOZ now.

#6 7 years ago

lets not get carried away!

still have to wait another dozen years for that to happen

#7 7 years ago

Best Woz thread title ever, I agree it's getting to that point and its still not here yet.

#8 7 years ago

I agree, great thread title! But I believe it will get BETTER, better.

#9 7 years ago

not quite chinese revolution...I dont think woz is over budget yet and I don't think its destined to lose money

#10 7 years ago

Funny... nice analogy.

#11 7 years ago

Jack will be the only original part of the team when it's released.

#12 7 years ago

Man I hope it doesn't suck that bad!

#13 7 years ago

Have to admit you got a chuckle out of me when I read the title.

#14 7 years ago

This thread is the Spaghetti Incident of Pinside threads. Discuss.

#15 7 years ago

....or for video game fans, I would call this thread "WOZ is the Duke Nukem Forever" of the Pinball World

#16 7 years ago

LOL..OK that's funny. And true...

Quoted from o-din:

By the time Chinese Democracy was finally released nobody cared anymore.

...especially this part. Even the JJP bandwagon guys are probably getting more excited about Hobbit than WOZ at this point. At least a little...

Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to playing a WOZ and seeing it finally come together. I respect the heck out of Jack and what he is doing. I even like the theme, it is a unique choice full of great possibilities. But really, the excitement has fizzled at this point with all of the great recent games and other stuff in the pipeline. It feels a little like this one is getting trampled and left in the dust as old news.

#17 7 years ago

I never knew this album even existed. lol

#18 7 years ago

Let me know when Jack has a hissy fit and cancels his appearance at Expo.

#20 7 years ago

Next month ohh wait that was last month or maybe the month before that or maybe last summer.
things that make you go hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

At this point, it's out when it's out. What a suckfest and a clusterf&*k.

However, BIG thanks to JJ, I love my AC/DC.

Welcome to the jungle baby.

Well, throw the analogy out the window then!! Because if there's one thing pinsiders care about, and say they don't, it's WOZ!

Nobody complains more about how late WOZ is than those who didn't order one and have no vested interest in the project at all! To that group of individuals, WOZ is at a life/death importance level ... for whatever reason.

I'm already looking into cheap flights to get away from the internet when it finally hits the streets. Pinside is going to burn down.

Thanks for the update, C+C Music Factory!

#26 7 years ago

Too funny!

I made the exact same reference over 4 months ago. It's more true now than it was when I said it!

If you can get passed the stupid looking bucket, you'll find a superb musician. Oh yeah, and comparing WOZ to Chinese Democracy, is epic.

Buckethead?

You gotta be smoking some to actually ask o-din if he does

#33 7 years ago

It never ends

#34 7 years ago

Funny title. Lets go WOZ!

#35 7 years ago

Axl left the band - jack left stern (check)
Hyped for years to the point that it will never meet expectations (check)
Went through lots of team members (check)
Buckethead (miss)
Delivered and ended up being ok (not incredible) (likely)

Did axl ask his customers to pay for the next cd before he released democracy???

I just think WOZ was doomed from the start because of the very bad theme and layout
1 ramp WTF?

Not feeling the doom. Most seem pretty excited for it to be released.

Ditto that!

I've enjoyed the JJP Democracy. He was very receptive to some of my ideas. I've been on it from almost Day 1.

He ain't gonna fail. Taking the time to do it right!

#39 7 years ago

This is the greatest comparison ever!

Only diff is Chinese democracy actually came out.

Jury is still out on which one will suck harder though.

#40 7 years ago

That or Duke Nukem Forever.

Let's try and come up with the meaning of the acronym WOZ... Waiting on ZZZzzzZz...

#41 7 years ago

I do believe in woz , I do believe in woz, I do, I do, I do , I do... to quote the cowardly lion

#42 7 years ago

Axl never left the band, he took control of it. Duff and Slash had serious substance abuse problems, and this is where it gets hairy '' We left because AXL was a dictator ''
Well..maybe if you wern't drinking a bottle of Jack and shooting up until you pass out..everyday...

It always amazes me that the GN'R pinball actually exists, because of how difficult it was to get any of them to do anything.

Chinese Democracy is actually a very good, solid album. Very different.

I'd like to point out, for those who don't know, that Shackler's Revenge is the title of a song on the album. Take that however you'd like.

#44 7 years ago

<----perhaps a bit biased but they still put on a hell of a live show.

#45 7 years ago

There is a huge difference though. Anyone that really wanted Chinese Democracy, already had it years before its' official release.

Frank

#46 7 years ago

^ yup, this is true for most of the tracks

Quoted from shacklersrevenge:

Thats because it wasn't Guns 'n Roses. Chinese Democracy would have been taken more seriously had he called the band "The Axl Rose Project" or something.

#48 7 years ago

"Chinese Democracy is actually a very good, solid album. Very different."

Agree 100%. Anyone who says different hasn't given it a chance. John

#49 7 years ago

Funniest thread ever. What s perfect comparison.
