ok just got woz today. Couple questions if you guys can chime in.

1- whats the latest software? i think mine said 4.11

2- How do you get extra balls? and how do you adjust it in settings to get more? this game is deep and I need all the help I can get.

3-Mr monkey is getting stuck as he goes up towards castle, his left wing is rubbing ever so slightly against door, how to fix/adjust? DSCF3252.JPG

4-Every once in awhile the left castle door is sticking open, how to fix/adjust? DSCF3254.JPG

thanks for any help

ok, so to fix my monkey hitting door problem i just added a small piece of foam to back of door, is this acceptable or is there an adjustment? Heres a pic. When capture dorothy light is lit the ball stops on magnet but money drops ball 1/2 the time when trying to pick it up, how to fix? thanks

I'd give LTG a call/email. Lloyd Olson (LTG) – service@jerseyjackpinball.com – 952-955-4121 - He can walk you through these issues

There are only two Extra Balls that I know of. On a home game you might want to consider having the replay award an extra ball instead of a credit (so you can get further in the game)
- Lit at wizard after 10 Yellow Brick Roads (YBR)
- Light extra ball is randomly awarded by wizard mystery
- (and looking through the manual those seem to be it unless more are available at a high # of YBRs)

For more information on the rules see: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/wizard-of-oz-rulesheet-2#post-2492959
or a little newer --> http://papa.org/wp-content/uploads/WOZ-Rulesheet-Version-1-24.pdf

For the game settings I'd hope yours came with a manual... but you can also download one at http://support.jerseyjackpinball.com/downloads/woz/Wizard_of_Oz_Manual_3_0_June_2014.pdf and then use the search function for "extra ball". Looks like you can set up to 4 "score awards" with extra balls (page B-22) which would really help with getting lots of extra balls as you play.

Oh yeah... and 4.11 looks to be the newest code based upon JJP website (http://www.jerseyjackpinball.com/game-specific-downloads/)

For a start, there are screws holding the castle playfield down. I'd loosen them and pull the castle playfield forward away from the back and tighten.

Quoted from Kahanaohana:

4-Every once in awhile the left castle door is sticking open, how to fix/adjust?

That gets harder if you need to snoop under there and see if it is binding on wires or anything or the spring that closes it is.

http://support.jerseyjackpinball.com/downloads/woz/ Back of the manual has instructions to remove the mini playfields. You can pull the playfield up and slide forward and rest on the front of the cabinet. Then lift the rear up and get a look under there. Be careful so you don't slide the playfield off the cabinet.

ok, monkey hitting door fixed. The monkey cant pick up ball though. Monkey magnet works in test, but it doesnt go close enough to ball to pick it up. How do you adjust to make it go closer to ball so it can pick up?

There are two limit switches that let the game know where the monkey is. One up by the castle door, and one down by the spot on the playfield where the monkey stops. The whole monkey mech and switches are monuted to a big metal bracket. Follow the wires below the playfield to locate them.

Adjust the switch arm up to stop the monkey quicker, adjust the switch arm down to had the monkey go farther.

Lloyd, i tightened/moved things around and monkey seems to be picking up ball better. Is this normal....when dorothy light is lit and you shoot a orbit with a half azz shot, lets say under and pass house but not quite to the pf magnet, the monkey is coming down still even though ball didnt make it there, make sense?

Yes that can happen. Monkey is triggered before the magnet grab. Rules still operate as though the monkey got it though I think.
No, think I'm wrong on this last bit. Ignore me.

The ball would need to close the optos at the castle i think?

#13 4 years ago

can someone ck theirs for me pls. Light Capture Dorothy light, then roll a weak shot up either orbit not quite making it to the monkey pf magnet. Does the monkey come down? i think hes triggered as ball rolls past optos under house.

#14 4 years ago

Yes, I believe a switch trips the monkey to come down before the magnet grabs it. I'm sure this better times the monkey on a fast shot. I've only had my RR for a couple weeks but loving this game. Also, just in case you didn't notice the entire manual can be viewed on the screen and the on-screen menus are excellent. Have fun with your game.

This is correct, if the ball does not get grabbed by the magnet on a low inertia shot, the monkey will move up a bit and then back down.
The ball sensor on the backside of the backboard can be moved a little to stop this, but its not necessary as it doesn't affect game play.

That's how my works including the last part you mentioned.

OP you might be a much better pinball player than me, but I put mine on 5 ball play and pretty liberal on the extra balls until I had played literally 100's of games. To me, WOZ is quite hard and I wanted to see some of the game play features people kept mentioning and I could hardly ever get to. Than backed down to a little harder later on as I got better and understood the rules. Just a thought and congrats on getting your WOZ!

Well, when your game floats all the way to Hawaii, you gotta expect a few issues.

yes this game is overwhelming with the light show and rules. i dont know what im doing. Light show is the best ever.

#19 4 years ago

Rules are complex but you can actually see the flow chart of what you need to do if you hold down a flipper long enough and cycle through

#20 4 years ago

OK now im starting to get bummed, another issue. anywhere i tap on playfield or hit flippers, a bell is tinkling and 7 points get scored. video up shortly. any ideas?

#21 4 years ago

Go into Tests - Switches - Matrixed. Bang on playfield. Adjust any that vibration triggers.

Thanks Lloyd, youre on it. ill ck it out.

Go into switch test and it will tell you which switch is too sensitive. It might be the Glenda target since you say there is a bell sound.

EDIT: what LTG said above

#24 4 years ago

thanks Lloyd, i found the offending switch firing off. The last thing not working is still this monkey getting false readings, someone mentioned my monkey magnet sensor needs to be adjusted/moved a little. Heres a pic of what i think is it. does this sound right? what to do? thanks

did you do this? how did you move it, tape, screws? thanks

I had to move mine a lot to find the right spot where it would only trigger when the ball is actually stopped by the magnet, where it was (same as yours) it would trigger as soon as the upper magnet energized. Good luck and be patient.

Ok almost got the game dialed in, it seems to be the monkey magnet sensor that is making my monkey act up. Now today the crystal ball is showing this upside down "4D systems uOLED 96 G2 usd 4d systems 2012" heres a pic, wasuup with that?DSCF3265.JPG

#29 4 years ago

Happens when the cable to the crystal ball gets knocked loose. Usually by the force of the vuk shaking the wireform and hitting the cable. Make sure its on snug and reboot the game. Shut the game off, count to 10, turn it back on.

thanks, turned off, back to normal.

The screen module is not receiving serial data from the rest of the game. Check the connector behind it. This is a notorious source of problems because of that connector coming loose.
