Quoted from HIPPY:Did you know Ruby Red are LE, only 1500 were made. I got #34 , nib, 5 years ago new. They are definitely gone , new, that is.
Saw this on a distributor web site. Looks like another run? Will they take out the monkey mech as well?

I have been trying to join this club for the last month or so. I’ve been on the hunt for a Woz Standard NIB with 2.0 boards and think after yesterday I have exhausted all distributors in US/Canada. A few distributor websites still have listed for sale (and in stock) on their websites and after putting in your cart to purchase or inquiring through email I’ve been getting the “Sorry Out of stock” message. Bummer. I think it is safe to say that the Standard Editions are sold out everywhere despite some sites stock listings saying otherwise. If you are a distributor and reading this PM me if you have in stock.
Quoted from Pinballomatic:Mike at Automated has some
Thanks for the lead, I will check that out-
Quoted from adamross:Has JJP made any official announcement of another RR run or is this rumor only?
From a PinballStar email I got yesterday, although have not heard anything from JJP directly:
454283EB-E3B8-4F54-8135-FFABE45E767D (resized).jpegJJP shows them as out of stock. I could of swore there was talk of another run Being made? All I can find are YBR editions.
Quoted from LukyDuck:They did a run last fall when I bought my RR. I have not heard about another run of the RR’s since then.
I wouldn’t expect any more runs of them until after they complete their move to the new factory.
I missed it then. Damn it!
Quoted from Daditude:I believe my local distributer ( FUN! Mesquite) has them
Thanks! I will check that out! I have a dist. Super close to me that has YBR editions only. I thought he would stock some of the RR run but never got any.
Quoted from LukyDuck:You might get lucky and find one somewhere. Good luck! I will never get rid of my WOZ RR!
Man I can’t believe I missed the last RR run. Looks like everyone has plentiful YBR editions but nothing else. Bummer.
Still on the hunt for a new RR Woz machine! These are proving to be hard to find! yellow Brick Roads all over the place. Hopefully when things get back to normal a new run will be made.
Quoted from harryhoudini:I have a RR with 2.0 boards that will be going up for sale soon. All of our mods are on it, some not released yet. A few states away but maybe you're interested.
I appreciate the offer but looking for one new in box.
As it turns out as of today I found a distributor that has 2 available but I had no clue that the price on these new went from $9,500 to $10,500. Crazy that in less than a year from when I originally set out to purchase one, RR editions have a $1,000 price increase! That was surprising.
The 1k price increase in less than a year was shocking. At first thought it was a mistaken price quote in the email the distributor sent. I asked to clarify that it was $10,500 not what I was quoted less than a year ago of $9,500. The distributor told me there has been a $1,000 price increase since last June when I originally inquired on new WoZ Ruby Red machines. I’m a buyer at $9,5000. With an extra 1k added To WoZ, there are other other machines that I will now look at instead. JJP should update their website because although out of stock, they still show the $9500 price for Ruby Reds.
Quoted from Rager170:I thought Ruby Reds were still selling for $9,500 if in stock?
Not according to the distributor I contacted, I was told there has been a $1,000 price increase on Ruby Red’s since I last inquired in June.
Quoted from DruTheFu:Was it a $1k JJP imposed price increase, or $1k mark up by distributor? I guess with the yellow brick road edition out there collecting dust at $11.5k, may as well have the more inclusive RR edition
match it in price.
Good question that I did not ask. I don’t know if distributors can put mark-ups On pinball machines? Why would you mark up a Wizard of Oz Ruby Red? Must come from JJP for the last run? When I originally asked JJP if they had any in stock to buy direct they told me to call up the distributor that has them.
He has 3 in stock @ $10,500- I told him I’d be a buyer at $9,500 yesterday like they were quoted to me last June. I would imagine that if he could, he would sell at that price. Maybe JJP increased the prices on Ruby Red’s 1k?
Quoted from Rager170:Oh really?? So a new RR would be $10,500 to buy??
Yes. There has been a $1,000 price increase on New Ruby Red’s according to the info I got from the distributor.
Quoted from bobukcat:They certainly can mark-up games and sell them for whatever they want, the fact they have three and no other distributors have any may be because he's asking $10500 for them though.
Maybe it is a mark up then? Would make sense I guess. I do not pay mark ups for anything, cars especially. If I see a mark up, that’s when I walk. I walked because I took what was said to me as a JJP initiated price Increase. Felt kind of strange to go up so much in less than a year. It did made sense to me since Stern did same in the new year. I would be surprised for a distributor mark up on a WoZ RR. Still puzzling. The distributor did not say it was a mark up just that there has been a price increase.
If it is a mark up I get the hustle, get what you can get, just not from me.
If it is a mark up rolling the supply and demand dice, the dist. could’ve sold one for $9,500 yesterday. Still could today.
On the flip side as far as supply and demand goes, you’d think there would be a mark-down on Yellow Brick Road Editions since they are everywhere. I’d be a buyer for a YBR at $9,000-$9,500 new. Seems like a fair price for taking a super cool mech out. After a year YBR’s are still everywhere.
JJP shows $9,500 on their site but out of stock?
BCCBCB76-ED77-4EAC-99BB-B5E54B63D6B4 (resized).jpegQuoted from Ericpinballfan:Good move on offer. These games are already expensive as it is.
I feel this is a distro mark up but could be wrong. What distributor may I ask?
I emailed JJP and they sent me to Pinballs.com
Quoted from DruTheFu:$9,500 “cash on glass” for a NIB....I would think distros would search you out for a for sure sale. Maybe put out a Wanted ad.
Right?! You’d think so since there are 3 available that have been sitting around since December/Jan or so when the last run was made collecting dust and you have someone ready and willing to buy. With the new 1k price increase maybe the Profit margin is not so swell.
I emailed JJP just to clarify. Haven’t heard back yet. I think I will post a wanted add.
Ok so I got some clarification from JJP today. There HAS NOT BEEN a $1,000 price increase on Ruby Red’s. It is a dealer mark up of $1,000 from Automated Services / Pinballs.com which is fine. No hate on the hustle. Just glad it’s not coming from JJP.
I just wish the distributor clarified that when I asked about the price increase. I feel they owe their possible customer at least that. Builds trust and at least they show they are straightforward. Car dealerships Around here at least have a Dealer Mark up sticker on the window.
With that said, if you are an authorized JJP dealer and you have a New in Box Ruby Red or the Emerald Green version of the Ruby Red available for $9,500 you have a buyer today. PM me.
Quoted from Doctor6:Ouch. Mike has been jacking his prices up as of late. More so than usual.
Automated / pinballs.com has their Ruby Red WoZ advertised here on Pinside Market for $10,500 now as well. $450 for shipping.
Would love to snag but I just can’t bring myself to pay the 1k for nothing. I could use that 1k to support some of the mod community and snag some of the mods I would want. Hopefully they come down back to the $9500 soon. If they do I will bite. Until then, nope.
Quoted from Rager170:Im surprised by that actually. I have bought all my games from them. But if there is demand and no more to be seen, then I can understand it. Thats sales like anything else. Mike is a good guy there.
Either supply and demand or times are rough. I get both. I imagine all 3 will sell this week For $10,500 if the demand is there.
I think you are right. I have emailed many of the listed JJP authorized distributors and everyone has responded the same way: Haven’t had RR’s for a long time but I can sell you a YBR. Seems like YBR’s are plentiful.
Surprised that Automated still has them though. Maybe held some back to be the last with them, then mark them up. Boom! Instant supply/demand mark up. Smart.
You are correct. I want it, but don’t need it. Definitely not paying a mark up. Pretty much have an icky feeling about this so that is a good indication to trust my instincts and walk. Might snag a Wonka from my local distributor.
Quoted from Doctor6:I agree. His used prices are insane and even his new prices as of late have sucked. His attitude isn't the best on the phone, but he does stand by his customers when shit goes wrong. I bought a few games from there, and one of them was a ghosting inserts star trek that he got me a new populated playfield for pretty quickly.
Wish I could have a good experience myself but “Prices“.
To his credit, he answered all of my emails quickly (although vaguely regarding “There was a price increase”). I think the way it was worded I assumed JJP increased the price instead of Automated / pinballs.com adding the 1k dealer mark up themselves.
That said, going through Pinside search, definitely mixed reviews. I think it does say something when JJP tells you to go to them however. They directed me straight to Pinballs.com. That was reassuring to me. Most complaints I read was about their pricing, not service. Their prices are high but people are buying. Who’s fault is that? They charge high, people buy, not their fault!
Those Ruby Reds are Probably all gone by now with a cool, free 3k In his pocket. Don’t blame him.
I’m Still on the hunt however. I’ve decided to not go the YBR route, Wonka is Still a possibility, but man, WoZ is what I truly want. Hopefully they do another run once they reopen and things get back on track. If not, that’s the way it goes.
Quoted from meSz:Here's a RR in your backyard for 8500 ... https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/official-california-for-sale-club-and-wanted-too/page/180#post-5630661
Thanks for the heads up. That one is literally over the bridge from me. I’m looking for a NIB for now though.
I like Wonka, it’s a fun game. Definitely my 2nd choice however. Wonka shoots great.
WoZ is the the total package to me as far as any JJP game goes, fun to play, fun to look at, full featured, awesome light show. Fingers crossed I can find one soon.
Had a fun time making some needed adjustments on my YBR today. First, my Winkie target would stay down and not pop back up on its own unless I ran test mode. Turns out the lock screw in back of mech had fallen out and the switch had also lost a screw.
While making those adjustments I noticed the pictured clip and nut loose in the back of the cab. Any suggestions where to look so I can put these back where they belong?

Yes. Another thing I found today was that the tip on my plunger was broken off. Put a new one on today as well. Maybe yours is the same?

I wonder if it's for one of the four bolts holding the coin door on ?
LTG : )
It’s Not one of the four bolts holding the coin door, must be from somewhere else. I appreciate that because I did not think to look there.
Quoted from LukyDuck:The first thing I do when I find a part on the bottom of the cabinet is look up. Most likely came from something above its current resting place. Where in the cabinet did you find it? Front, back, under the witch, etc.
Both were in the way back of cab.
I’m having a helluva time trying to adjust the Winnie drop target switch on my YBR. Currently when you hit it only once it will go down and stay down for the entire ball. Next ball it will pop back up and fire off 5 times in a row before stopping. Any ideas will be helpful.
965A880A-E937-4EA7-A96A-337698286E3E (resized).jpegQuoted from LTG:Here are a couple pictures that may help. The tab on the drop target pushes the arm of the switch closed. And releases it open when it goes back up. You can test in Tests - Switches - Matrixed.
To adjust you can loosen the screws a tiny bit and rotate the switch body up od down as needed. ( your screw in the slotted hole, is it tight ? ) then tighten the screws. Not to much as you'll bind the switch.
Be sure it is assembled right. And the flat metal arm not bent up and effecting the part that shoves the tiny knob into the switch body.

That was a big help! Got it working! THANKS!
Quoted from robey99:I know there is a lot of opinions on this but thought I’d ask. I really like the YBR edition but really bummed it does not have the flying monkey mech. Has anyone else bought the YBR an regretted it? It’s just one mech but it is so cool and I think that is what people remember.
I bought a NIB YBR back in May. I have always thought the Monkey Mech was awesome. It sucks that JJP decided to take it out but I understand why they did. I do feel that the sparkle playfield, yellow armor, wood apron, 2.0 board set, and shiny Radcals help but I do wish they kept it. From what I have been told is that it is one less headache to worry about but it is a cool mech.
Do I regret not buying a used WoZ that has one? No.
JJP new pinballwizard.com has playfield protectors for WOZ on sale for $29.00
Anyone ever use?

Anyone know why the latest code 7.04 US mirror on JJP website keeps coming back blocked for download? Eur works but not US mirror. I finally have some time to install the wifi dongle but need to update to latest.
I downloaded the full update from the website EU mirror. It uploaded into machine and told me to reboot. I do so and screen goes dark and I cannot access any menu. If I put usb back in, no difference. I cannot access any menu to start an install. Screen goes black and will not allow anything.
Do I need to do the “Delta Upgrade”? And try that?
I redownloaded the file 4 times and re did ISO. Still same issue. Went for a 5th and it finally installed. All day ordeal to update code!
Having a strange issue with my WoZ. I can turn on game, it boots up, goes into attract mode. I cannot toggle through attract mode with flippers, I also cannot start a game. Every time I hit start, nothing happens. Anyone have any ideas?
Right, I remember that taking place, I poorly worded my question. What I meant to ask was has there been an update to the code that removes Scorbit from the initial boot up of machine since JJP decided to no longer use it? I still get the red Scorbit icon in upper right of my machine when I boot it up indicating that it’s not connected. You would think that if JJP decided to get rid of the service they would update machine code to fully remove by now? Seems like more than enough time has passed to fix this by now.
Also, bad move by JJP getting rid of Scorbit, I enjoyed it.
