FYI, you can buy the metal apron to replace the wood one if you want....
Quoted from herg:
I'm also very happy with the SS on my standard. The green is maybe slightly nicer looking, IMO, but I really don't care for the red. The decals are pretty crappy compared to the printed cabinet, though.
I thought the wood apron was just installed on top of the metal one. I don't have an LE, so I may be wrong.
I'd guess the metal one would not have the artwork on it though, or at least holes to secure the wood?
Quoted from konghusker:
I noticed two things today on my new woz. Shaker motor seems to be a little noisy, kind of a scratching noise. Possibly hitting cover? I removed cover and tightened screws, so what could it be? Second, I here and feel a loud thud in the middle of some games. Does knocker fire during gameplay based on achievements?
contact jjp support, you might need a new shaker
Quoted from Allibaster:
I seem to have a problem with my crystal ball spinner. It usually does not register, or register enough to start a mode, with slow rolls into the VUK, which is probably about 50% of the time. It only works when I really get it in there quickly.
I've tried adjusting the switch. Any ideas?
mine had the wire being interfered with by the lane guide
Quoted from Chosen_S:
The playfield protector is polycarbonate. Poly scratches and dulls easily... EASILY, wiping poly down with a dry towel will scratch it. However it is almost impenetrable. So it does protect, but will dull from even light play. It will possibly trap dirt underneath. I agree to each his own.
Better than having the clear coat and artwork chip off over time
No guaranty the chipping will just stop where people have already seen it
My 1st 2 shakers that got replaced did not.
The 3rd shaker that works right does have it
There should be a 2nd set of slings in your goodie bag
Quoted from Radius118:
No, I understand that. But it could definitely happen. WoZ runs on Ubuntu Linux but I doubt that when JJP releases code updates that they use a newer kernel that supports newer onboard peripherals on newer motherboards. So it seems that eventually you'd run into a board with a USB interface chip or *something* that the WoZ Ubuntu kernel doesn't have drivers for. Then something wouldn't work or heaven forbid you got a kernel panic...
Just seems wise to pick up one or 2 "compatible" motherboards now while they can still be had cheap. I mean after all, I'm sure WoZ is using some cheap board that can be had for like $39 or something from Newegg...
Pinbox for P2K machines has run into install trouble as needed downloads to Ubuntu are no long available for it's version
Quoted from Radius118:
Uh oh... That's not good..
Not to go too far off the topic, but what's the workaround for that?
there are some linux commands apparently to tell the OS not to try download those specific updates and the install proceeds and pinbox stilll works
might be easier for somebody to just clone a pinbox hard drive for other people who are not linux gurus?
Quoted from MiamiRedSkin:
Anyone here have any idea what this can be? I find it strange that it works fine in test, but not during a game.. is that because the coils are pulsed at different strengths? I submitted a message on the JJP website but haven't heard back yet.
Does yours have a capacitor on it?
Quoted from fuseholder:
Question, during some multi ball events and other awarded specials my volume goes way to loud over my initial setting. Is this normal or what setting in the menu do I use to control this?
and there is a setting... But I forget what the setting is called
Quoted from RTS:
Are there any known tweaks to improve the consistency of making the ramp shot?
Do others get frustrated with the ramp, especially from the right flipper?
I'm open to any suggestions other than improve my aim. I can make the shot, but rejects are more common.
Have you adjusted your flipper power?
