I just got the overheating Inductor on the earliest version power supply which looked like it cooked nearby components. Is there any hope of repair and upgrade from Stern? Thanks in advance for any knowledge on this.

Quoted from LTG:Maybe try a Stern tech thread or call Stern ?
Oh boy did I F up. I unboxed a Stern today and had the menu button problem, Stern on the mind. At the same time the Inductor blew up on WoZ.
I'm an idiot. I admit that.
We will be on the horn to JJP, just thought I'd ask...
Quoted from Ericpinballfan:Side note: What stern you unbox?
It was Mandalorian, I have to admit, when I looked inside and saw basically nothing compared to games even 5 years ago it surprises me. I mean, when I lift a play field I kind of expect at least a subway. When I open the the backbox I think "That's the CPU?".
I kind of know the answer already, just was wondering if any fairy dust could help. Early first generation WoZ production run and the power supply was original. Of course the inductor fried. Ordered the replacement and she won't boot even after shorting the pins indicated in the directions. So, apparently it's CPU replacement time. Unless any of you has a fairy dust possible fix.
5 V is getting to the CPU it's just that the power supply is not getting the return to switch on the supply as the PS fan is not operating.
Any idea what a CPU costs for this game? Has anyone else had a CPU taken out by the original power supply?

Got the answer from tech support in less than 5 mins of emailing.
Quoted from Rager170:So how much was it?
$299 plus shipping. Today I unplugged the CPU from the new ATX power supply and the supply came to life. Tomorrow I check that the wires to the
connector are all in the correct pin slots. After that it's new CPU time.
Quoted from Rager170:Now curious which GPU they sent you?
Not sure yet, it's on order however now I have a head scratcher. The main connector that goes from the power supply is a 24 pin connector. On the original harness only 20 wires are used, 4 slots in the plug are empty. On the new supply there are 24 wires. 3 of the additional wires are power (not ground). So, that's confusing. One other piece is that from the power supply to the CPU there is one more 4 pin plug. When I disconnect that 4 pin the CPU fan runs and the power supply fires up. Plug it back in and the P/s goes into protect mode.
When we get it in, I'll let you know. Any tidbits of info you have I'd be happy to know. - Your friend who used to live in THE original Sandy Hook schoolhouse @ 4 Sherman Street.
Quoted from insight75:Here is the new motherboard from JJP I just installed if this helps.
On your 24 pin connector, on the far end side that is covered in your photo by the ferrite magnet, are there indeed wires in those 4 end slots? I don't want you to open it up again, just was wondering if you remember.
Quoted from insight75:Don't recall any wires in that area.
Did you have a Motherboard failure due to a "Unified" power supply failure and why you have the new motherboard? Thanks for your help.
