.....you can blame me anyway...I stay in trouble most of the time w this stuff ( adding a TRON Legacy LE to the lineup, got permission to look....she doesn't know I've already committed ....forgiveness is always better than permission.....
Payment Sent for Castle Walls and Black Cage, Thanks for doing these, was gonna buy them from Matt at Back Alley but they never surfaced and yours look so detailed and the cage is awesome. I cant wait to get them installed.

What material is this made of? ('lightweight' and 'latex coating' has me a bit concerned about durability.) It's hand-carved and not molded? Do the walls install over the original or replace it?
Anybody know the price of the official castle walls? I like the cage, btw!

The material is very durable against ball strikes (the pinball does not even touch the walls on that upper playfield). You will have to remove the existing walls and replace them with the new ones with the provided brackets and hardware. Installation time should take approx 30 minutes. All sets are hand carved and not molded. Each wall piece is hand painted with a faux finish, using a combination of black, shades of gray and white paints, than clear coated.
The witch's cage is installed by removing the two existing screws, lift the metal bracket and remove the clear tube.
Position the new cage over the metal bracket with provided hardware. Installation time is 10 minutes.
Now back to the carving station...will post the progress pics later.

No, you do not have to remove the upper playfield. Pull the entire playfield up in a resting position, remove the two existing wall plastics with the wood screws, then remove the existing walls over the doors by pulling plastic rivets with your fingertips. Attach my custom brackets to the existing brackets then screw my walls to them. Phillips head screw driver is all you really need for the walls installation. All the hardware and instructions are included with the order.

Ha, well now that I think about it,,, probably should not share any of this with the wife. I am sure it will be easier for me to MOW the lawn and take out the trash than to explain this 'emergency' purchase.
In fact I am sure that the 'Castle Walls' and 'Witch Cage' were always there......
she just didn't pay attention. 
I like the cage, but I think it makes the Witch look more like a "casino cashier", than a wicked Witch.
I like the walls, but I'm not crazy about the bird cage. It doesn't really "fit" with the theme, though the workmanship on it looks good.

This flexible chrome edge really reflects the lights great and protects the exposed plywood edge that can be prone to pinball strikes and get damaged. Just wanted to thank everyone for their positive feedback, and share the progress of the castle walls with those who placed their orders. These are some of the pieces that have been carved, a latex coating has been applied, once dried, some detail work will be performed and than the finishing process of hand painting the bricks using various shades of greys , black and white to get a realistic stone look. The overall color is more of a medium grey tones that match the mini playfield a little closer. I made a few adjustments in some of the wall details to have a more uniform look. Everything is coming out great , and orders will be shipping soon .

Boy, am I glad I ordered these from you. Suddenly (as in this morning) these look like the bargain of the year. I hope they are as nice as they appear in the pictures.

Agree 100%. Matt does quality work, but his prices are obscene (IMO) for a few pieces of molded plastic and brackets. I like both sets of walls, as I think they're a nice improvement on the originals. But I've purchased working, fun EM games for less than the price of Matt's walls. Then again, I'm not the average Pinsider who will buy any mod at any price...
I have looked at close up pictures of both mods and even if the price were the same I would still probably go with the modfather. To me they just look a little better. More realistic.

I like both, esp. how the monkey is hidden and the lower left corner with the spotlight is enclosed. If the 'official' ones were around $100, it would be a tough call for me. But this is a no-brainer IMO. Seems like there's a lot more labor involved in these too, and Matt's are just molded--both involved tweaking of the respective designs, I'm sure. Even with licensing fees, I can't justify a $225 price there.

Haha I totally agree, I make all mine from scratch as well but casting them in resin would be WAY faster and easier for the OP
I am a lot more interested in these now after seeing the other prices. Has anyone received them yet? I would love to hear some reviews of these.
Just a quick update: the witch's cages are now completed.... I decided to dip the cages in a gloss polyurethane multiple times to produce a nice thick finish. The metallic flake sparkles just right when a light hits it. The castle walls are coming out great. I'm sanding down all the rough edges to smooth them out a bit for a more finished and uniformed look. I'll be starting the final painting process tomorrow, then custom brackets and prepare for shipping.
I'm trying to get this batch of walls and cages all done together and ship everyone's orders from this week at the same time, so not to have anyone waiting to long. The final product actually looks better than the prototype on my own game!

Can you do it or is it to late? They really look good. Can't wait to get mine.

A trusted source told me it will encase the game itself like his T2 mod....but will have 6-foot wide retractable, flapping mechanical wings, an 8-foot tail that emerges from behind the backbox to swat at you and actual fire that gets blasted on you while you play!

2014-05-18-19-46-59.pngYeah I did, I read a comment on another thread and picked up on it . I sanded down all the edges which looks smoother. There are some rough spots that gives it a natural stone look. There are 3 shades of grey all subtly blended with some color variation to give it a weathered look. I used a clear satin polyurethane on all sides including the back to bring out the colors. The overall color scheme leans towards the medium grey which matches the playfield more closely. I hope everyone likes them, it was a ton of work, and a labor of love....
now time to make a bunch of brackets.........
