Haven't run into the issue myself, but I haven't let the machine run that long either.

Downgrading the kernel version would be difficult.

It would be nice to get some logs off the machine during the time of the crash / lockup. Does the machine remain locked up indefinitely when this happens or does it eventually resolve itself?
