So after reading through a number of threads it seems everyone has an opinion on what the next hot theme should be. It seems to me that manufacturers are currently trying to cater to the home Market and the generation with money to spend on them.(Munsters,Batman 66,Beatles ect.) Now all these are all fine titles but do they really have any staying power? Twenty years from now it's hard to imagine an up-and-coming collector clamoring to get his hands on a Munsters machine. That said, what does have Universal appeal and never goes out of style. You guessed it.... naked ladies, hell, even half naked ladies add to any games appeal. Don't believe me, look at the artwork on the Humpty Dumpty game. A timeless classic going way back based on a children's nursery rhyme yet the back glass artwork contains more scantily clad female forms then nursery rhyme characters.
So I guess my question is, is the General Public and the industry ready for an adult themed pinball machine. I personally would be first in line for an Unapologetic stripper themed pinball machine. For years pinball enthusiast have been populating their man caves with the likes of playboy, stargazer, viper ect. probably because of the artwork more than the game play. I personally think a game where goals achieved removes more articles of clothing from a dancer would be very rewarding. With what they're doing with code these days you could still have an adjustment in settings menu that allowed for family-friendly (Manson Family)gameplay. Maybe pasties or fig leaves over the fun spots for public play.
I get in this age of political correctness this is something that the manufacturers would probably never touch but as a consumer, I would love to get my hands on one. Sex sells and always will.(Humpty Dumpty) very curious to hear others thoughts and opinions on this.

Sexiness sells...

#3 2 years ago

Personally, no. Maybe you can hijack the LCD video and sound off a modern pin to accomplish it on your own. Others here might have more pointed advice on that. Wasn't there already zingy bingy or something like that?

I would like it. However, all the do gooders would be offended and be offended for everyone else. These are the same people who take children to a bar and then complain about foul language and adult atmosphere.

#6 2 years ago

Yes, keep the backglass pg13 and offer adult only setting for the display.

Personally i find it better to leave more to the imagination than to just have a bunch boobs and bushes in your face. I am as fond of the female form as the next heterosexual male, but I just dont see what this gets you in the end. If I am not mistaken, there are plenty of porn sites and strip clubs out there if you want to see boobs. Hell, I have a pair myself, ogle them all you want. Its possible I am in the minority, but I dont play pinball based on how naked the ladies are on the glass. Now, if you are talking about something with a strip club full of innuendo, like Big Bang Bar, then I think lots of people are in. But thats completely different from have a girl strip throughout gameplay. When I want to have sex, I go find my girlfriend. When I want to play pinball, I play pinball. Just my $0.00. FYI I dont mean any disrespect to those that would like this, I just have no desire for it.

Totally respect this opinion. Not looking to replace my sex life with pinball just thinking out loud about a theme that will still have staying power 20 years down the road.

I'm not really interested. Maybe some boobs here and there is fine but I don't need a porno pinball because I'm not a creepy thirsty old guy. Being offended has nothing to do with it either. I'd just feel weird. Kinda like those aftermarket translites that have topless women on them that look awful. I'd be embarrassed to have something like that. Sometimes it can be funny as a novelty (like big dick) but overall, nah, i'm good. That said, I am all for keeping sexy women in the artwork, just like, have a little class.

Zingy Bingy , not exactly what I had in mind. Sounds like it never made it out of the Prototype stage, and was one of the final Nails in the coffin that was capcom's pinball division. As much as I like boobies, I can see where two fleshy targets on the playfield might be a tough sell.

I have a Sopranos and it has three settings. The adult setting has many f-bombs. Game has strippers and Tony has sex on his boat during multiball. Great game should get more love.

Im just not sure that a strip club pin would have staying power. I think the most adult theme that can span generations is cars. Almost everyone loves cars. New, old, doesn’t really matter. People like cars. I think something along the lines of Magic Mike or an equivalent female centered theme would sell well for Spooky or AP, as they do a smaller run than Stern or JJP. I would love to see a remake of BBB, just because the callouts are funny as hell. Or maybe the Rockettes? That could be on the more adult side of things while still being tasteful. Hell, I would totally buy a Rockettes themed game. Well, as long as it isnt total crap on gameplay.

Not really. Python got fired in January 1996, Capcom didn't close until December 1996.

Have never played this but I think these settings are a must on games like this and South Park/Family Guy.

Maybe one of these would be to your liking!

I don't have any confidence that anything overtly sexual would be done well, and will likely just come off as tasteless and scummy.

I kind of thought Oktoberfest was a theme where they could do something sexy in a fun / funny way. I think they missed the boat on that one, and this guy was really ticked, ha.

Just bring on BBBr, that'll do.

Adult themes more along the line of Rick & Morty yes

#18 2 years ago

The poll needs one more choice: yes, if it is fun to play.

For me, gameplay comes before theme and playfield toys.

#19 2 years ago

If I owned a Stern Playboy I'd definitely use the optional nudie artwork pieces on it, for damn sure.

I don't think he meant porno pinball. Adult themed doesn't have to be porn.

Use your imagination....Like the movie Porky's! That would be awesome....Lassie multi ball!

I would ask in this day do people find Luci offensive? I can certainly understand that in some family settings it would be a no go, but in general is it that bad, if maybe a bit tacky? (let's be honest, that art package is better than any of the other AC/DC packages - except maybe BIBLE). I mean, all the music you pinheads listen to is about drinking and sex, and then of course what happens when that doesn't work out. I'd find a pin theme about a sad cowboy more offensive than a pin with some boobs on it.

but adult themed pins in general I'm all for. More like R&M, or darker content movies, etc. Bring them on.

#25 2 years ago
Quoted from Zablon:

In my arcade I haven't gotten any complaints on it. Or The Walking Dead with Cleland software in it.

When I had the Bill Paxton pin here. I did get a lot of complaints about the movie call outs from it. Which was surprising since TWD is way worse with the Negan quotes in it.

If you mean cartoon or photoshopped cut pasted boobs, I have no interest. It's just so low hanging fruit and sad. If we are talking Pulp Fiction theme take my Mother F*cking money.

#27 2 years ago

Would I play an adult themed pin? Hell yes!

Would I buy/own said pin? Maybe, depends on how it looked and played.

Poll is missing above choice.

It's great how easy it is to change them. When friends come over with kids I change the setting to family. After I change it back.

I’d be down for a “stuck” themed pin

You know the one where your stepmom gets stuck in the clothes dryer and then ummm…

Yah this....

Id love to see the "let me check with my wife" posts on that one. Sure that would go well...

#36 2 years ago

I wouldn't mind a general girlie mod you could add to any game. You beat the high score and a trap door opens on the top of the head and a plastic chick in a bikini slowly rises up and goes back down. You'd have to cut the hole but it's the top of the head, nobody ever looks up there.

#37 2 years ago

A funny PornHub pin would be awesome. Take on all the tropes: Bratty Sis, Stepmom, Russian girl, cosplay/furry, dominatrix, etc. It could be pretty fun.

Leisure Suit Larry: in Through The Outlane. Someone make it.

I should add I've had a few complaints on the suggestive audio in Big Bang Bar.

An original Capcom one, yes.

Breakshot is a little racey too. But no complaints yet on it.

Woohoo! I'll be stopping in Monday or Tuesday.

This conversation is pointless because said machine does not exist.
And if it did exist, potential customers would want to know how much it costs and if it had good flow on the ramps or not.
Whoever did build it would be famous and people would probably be asking what machine would be coming out next.

I remember someone in the What’s the Next Stern Pinball thread posting that it was going to be Zombie Stripper Bowling. I’m sure they were joking but that actually has a lot of potential.

My very conservative sister in law (who also hates horror/scary movies) loves playing my Rob Zombie pin. She says she likes that it curses at you and has topless witches. I consider it an Adult machine.

Were the complainers offended because their children were playing or was it more of a
church lady “ I’m a uptight adult and I’m offended”?

Every post on this thread assumes that said machine would be purchased by a male customer.
How do we know that said "adult theme" might be tailored for a female customer?
Perhaps that could be a setting option on said machine.

You beat me to it.

One thing I love about R&M is that despite being an adult theme, this fact is easily disguised from anyone not familiar with the show and who does not listen to the call outs. People look at it and say "oh cool, some kind of space theme, eh?"
