Quoted from kaneda:Securing music and voices might be hard. But hell yes!
Michael J Fox refused to allow his likeness on a machine the first time around.
But, the pin itself wasn't great, so I can't imagine that they could make another one that was any worse than the first.
The telltale adventure games used a MJF sound-alike so I think it would sound alright with an impressionist. People sound different when they get older and I'm sure MJF is no different.
I still can't believe we're living in "the future" and 1985 is as far back as 1955 was when the movie first opened.
Quoted from jfh:But MJF would have to do custom voice work
Or just get david spade to impersonate him
There's one of these at a local pawn shop. I asked about it and they said they would "consider" selling it for $3,000. All it needs is... everything. Looks like an ashtray was dumped on the playfield. Flipper literally broken into 2 pieces. Same for most plastics. Targets hanging loose. Half the GI is out. Most of the lamps are out. Sound is failing.
Is it a buy?
Absolutely! The Data East version is not that great. Stern, JJP or Spooky could a sell a ton of these if it is done right. Same with a Ghostbusters pin. Both are themes that deserve a modern day pinball machine!

You forgot Heighway
Quoted from kaneda:Well everyone missed the boat as this is the big anniversary year.
There's still time. What if Stern on October 21st, 2015 (the day Doc, Marty and Jennifer go into the future in the 2nd film) announces Back to The Future Motion Trilogy Pinball with Christopher Lloyd doing custom callout's and an LE that features real brushed stainless steel armor to match a Delorean along with side lighting similar to that in STLE that lights up when you go forward or back in time?! Mr. Fusion interactive topper is an add on of course. That would be epic! I can dream
2015....The future has come, and gone. No..no one is reproducing our beloved PINBALL BTTF! OR another film, we all would love it. Rights for music, film, and Data East and Paramount would take a team of lawyers another 30 years to work out.
Stand-by for pictures and video in days to come of my BTTF PINBALL MACHINE 4 SALE!
Ive been dreaming of a new and good version of this pin.
You could have parts of the playfield rotate (like bop head) that would show different time periods of the same locations and when you started different times periods the music would change to fit thw times.
When you drain, Biff would say "now make like a tree and get out of here"
Have a clock tower toy that used a Jacob's ladder to show it getting hit by lightning.
Quoted from pascal-pinball:cab stern do a" BTTF VE"?
with new software and better artwork...
Probably hard to get better artwork. Christopher Lloyd wouldn't sign off on TPA's Addams Family and had to be redrawn. Imagine BTTF with 2 fake characters this time!

My thoughts exactly. How cool would it be to have a rotating clock tower for 1985, 1955, 2015, 1985, and 1885?!
Quoted from DefaultGen:Christopher Lloyd wouldn't sign off on TPA's Addams Family and had to be redrawn
actors change over the years. I think Christopher Lloyd of today is so thrilled people are still enjoying the trilogy that he might be willing to sign off on his likeness. About the only person that wouldn't have any part of it is Crispin Glover. Funny how his career tanked for being so greedy. You could probably get huey lewis agree to a cheap license for his music, he's doing casinos now

Huey Lewis Just played at the Turning Stone NY
Had a pretty big following and tickets were not that bad (yes I know 30yrs later)
maybe he would do music for the game cheap enough for the exposure to todays youth and whatnot
I would be all over a BTTF30th Pin
im already on the list for the DVD for Oct release with light up Flux Cap Case and am always calling Delorean Dealers for a Junk Car to restore
Epic film ....
I remember when Huey Lewis opened for Gary Myrick and the Figures at the Whisky. First album...
Or was that the Roxy?

I backed 2 BTTF related DVD's on kickstarter:

I follow a BTTF fan page on facebook. The 30th anniversary DVD is going to feature part of the "out of time" footage on the bluray
There are literally 900,000 great licenses that would make awesome pinball machines. I will never understand why some of you keep clamoring for the same not-even-relevant, defunct licenses to be re-made over and over again.
It's laughable that you think a tiny theatrical re-release is enough to support a brand new pinball.

Do you realize how many of the next generation watch BTTF? That's like saying "why would you support a non-relevant series like star trek, star wars or dr who?"

Yes, this "not-even-relevant, defunct license" was one of the top grossing movies in the UK last year due to this event:

The Back to the Future Secret Cinema experience is coming to the US (Los Angeles) this year:

The 30th anniversary Blu-ray box set is also coming out soon. Why bother on a not-even-relevant, defunct license?
The truth is you can take any theme and make a decent pinball machine out of it. Or for that matter, a clunker.
A new bttf pinball is on the top of my whislist! So yes I would buy it! Even if I had to sell some top games for it of my current collection.
But one thing is important: no impersonators (artwork and sound)! I'd rather have the custom call outs by a total stranger then but all the rest are movie samples sounds.
What's up with pinside price on this BTTF game? Seen 4 or 5 in LA CA area sell for 4k! Three on eBay in last year also the same price. When does pinside update price? Only if they sell on pinside? Bad price barometer here. Also, not a bad pin. Very challenging and the skill shot is not sasy! Hard scoring, hard game play. Beyond hard to find pin, especially on any sort of good shape.

They SOLD for 4K? Good lord! Anyone paying 4K for a BTTF deserves to have their car driven into a manure truck. That's a nice 90's DMD price, and nearly a NIB Stern. I wonder if the buyers wish they could go back in time and steal their own wallets?

There's no way any sold for 4k, ever. Pinside gets it's pricing from eBay sales that actually sold, not just listed.
