...that cost a couple of $'s make more money for the site and allow notifications for posts and tags so people didn't have to check back unnecessarily?

Sounds like a win on both parts.

I can't imagine a scenario where income from an app would be greater than development and maintenance costs.

You're asking if app income would be greater than cost to develop and maintain Android & iOS versions?

Are push notifications the only additional feature? Tagging of games and users is already available using # and @ respectively.

A (free) app and a new notification system has been in development for quite some time. It's gonna be pretty awesome and coming to an App Store near you (soon)!

That's great news! Thanks Robin, it's like you read our minds. Naysayers take that. And let's hope it also works on Android?

Why would anybody down vote the original post?

Thinking the same thing. I always find it funny when people scoff at an app that costs a couple bucks for an ad-free experience. We're completely ok with spending $600+ on a phone, but when it comes to a $1-$5 app, people get all huffy.

I digress. Thanks for your continued support, Robin (and others)!

    Thats awesome!
I wasn't think the cost of the app would cover maintenance fees but in a hobby where collections range from a few hundred dollars to many thousands a $1-10 app would be worth it to connect us to our favorite website.

I have had a few mistake downvotes given from browsing on my iPad.

Just tap the downvote button a second time to remove it. Or tap the bumper cap and tap the "clear my downvote/upvote" button.

Yep I have done that on my phone , I hope I caught all that were done by mistake and cleared them, but I'm sure a few have slipped by .

There are several apps that interface with Pinside and millions of other websites. Firefox is one good one.

What features would entice you to switch from a free app that lets you use millions of websites to a paid app that interfaces with only one?

Yeah I get how to remove them, the problem is when you don't realize you did it while scrolling accidentally

Well best example is.... I can log into my bank from an Internet browser but the app is so user friendly, why bother? I have so many notifications on my phone (even though I have ever most turned off) running a business that an app with notifications would save me time. Notification pops up, click, there.
I'm sure PM'S would be easier too.

My work blocks Pinside. But apps are allowed. Virus concerns I was told. Is this ever going to happen?

I for one would like to see an app. Regardless of how well the website works on firefox or safari etc... An app would greatly fit into my daily much better.
