The Wizard of OZ is ranked higher than Star Wars in just about every source you'll be able to find.
You also have to remember that The Wizard of OZ is al most 50 years older yet it still has the staying power to consistently rank in the top ten of many polls and is always ranked higher than Star Wars.

In some polls Star Wars isn't even close. In others it is closer but WOZ is always ranked higher.
The Wizard of OZ might not have been an appealing theme for you but is one that resonates with a large majority of people worldwide. It's a fantastic film (universally-recognized as one of the best of all-time) and an excellent theme for a pinball machine. That's not to say Star Wars would be bad though. It would be a good theme too.
No theme is going to appeal to everyone though. I find it almost inconceivable that someone could prefer the band Iron Maiden to the Rolling Stones, but there are obviously some out there who do. There are also some who think Justin Bieber is better than the Beatles but that doesn't mean I have to subscribe to the BS.

Man this thread makes me sad. WOF has been on my very short list of wants since it first came out. When a mint one in my area comes up for sale, it's mine. I grew up watching game shows back when they were on USA all day during the week, then when GSN first came along. WOF is nowhere near the top of my favorite game shows list though. They should have made a generic game show pin. Each mode could have been a classic game show (press your luck, wof, price is right, let's make a deal, etc).
