You don't get the original voice actors for one simple reason: $$$.

That's what I thought but is it not the complete opposite of the point ?

Hey guys we paid huge premiums to get you the latest blockbuster movie license. You guys are allready all sell out to the recipe but we are too cheap to pay the actors or the rights for the soudtracks. It's like putting 1 piece of meat in the Big Mac. Don't call it a Big Mac if it not like on the box.

So all that $$$$ went to have the right to photoshop some pictures on our PF and cabinet ?

I might sound like a hater, which i'm not. I love Stern, for so long the only true company of pinball. Really just want to understand how it works with the licenses and Stern's brain

Shrek....."Somebody once told me" NO! NO! I hate that song! (stabs self in face)

I know this is slightly OT from the original post - apologies.
Finding a line in a movie that would be appropriate for a shot in a pinball game is a challenge. Thus designers script the callouts they want for their shots. I seem to remember GS saying that the original actors oftentimes want too much money to do custom voice work for a pinball game. So instead of getting Joe Pesci for LW3 you get Fred Young: http://www.pinballnews.com/shows/expo2006/index4.html
When you get the original voice actors doing something like TSPP or FG they do it because they think it's a project that's cool and they want to be a part of it - that's pretty special. For those actors that are looking for boatloads of cash do you blame GS for not upping the ante or the actor for looking for another big payday?

Of course with an original theme this is all moot...

South Park ...wait does it have music ? I think its all annoying voices and fart sounds

#56 6 years ago

Man I must have bad taste in music because I upgraded the speakers in my CFTBL and TZ because I love the music that much lol.

#57 6 years ago

Baywatch, CRIPES!

#58 6 years ago

CFTBL's main music isn't anything special, but the multiball theme more than makes up for it.

I may be in the minority here, but i dont really care for the earlier pat lawlor sounds/music EX: WW, ES, or TAF
and i pretty much hate all of the BSMT2000 Data east/sega sounds/music

Not a fan of TAF either...annoying.

Good point, same reason I can nominate Tommy.

Every pinball machine should contain Hiwatts, a Gibson with P-90s, and be playing this:

Motordome........worst music ever
Metalica

just my opinion, Bob

I do like Jackbot and Riverboat Gambler...

High roller is the worst I've heard, and my girlfriend absolutely HATES FT, it does have that music that sticks with you and gets stuck in your head unfortunately.

#68 6 years ago

Roller Games. God it was so bad, I couldn't stand to play the game.

#69 6 years ago

blackwater 100 ! how can anyone say that it is acdc crazy talk

#71 6 years ago

I have to go with Shrek. I can't stand that song, let alone 500 times in a row.

#72 6 years ago

I can't rightfully give you a thumbs down, but I will respectfully wholeheartedly disagree with this opinion

Riverboat Gambler. Song sucked long before the guy starts singing. "Cashing out?!" Yes, that terrible song made me.

#74 6 years ago

I love that song in the shek pinball lol.....I think it has to be the blackwater 100 ...

You can give me a thumbs down. I know there are a lot of people that disagree with those both. I just HATE the singing on BK2K, it is the ultimate cheese. And Bride bugs me because Pinbot had such a kick-ass soundtrack. It was a real let-down for me the first time I played it, the bad music and the "My God, She's alive" voice sample ultimately swayed me from picking one up, despite the fact I enjoy playing it.

I can never fault someone for having an opinion!

I like the whole music package on both BK2K and BOP. Yes, the choral voices get a bit old, but all in all I still think BK2K is one of the best soundtracks in pinball. Ever.

This is the great thing about the hobby. If everyone liked the same thing, how boring would that be?

How can Ritchie hate Danny Elfman ? Danny's scores are incredible.

You must have done something really wrong to have a hearing impaired person hate your music!

I would go with whitewater...

I have to go with High Speed.

They say it's supposed to be "I Can't Drive 55". I just don't hear it.

It sounds like a 3 year old learning how to program MIDI equipment.

Opinions sure do vary. That game has one of my buddy's absolute favorite pinball soundtracks.

And I've seen TZ and CFTBL soundtracks both criticized and praised in this thread. I love them both.

Well.. I kind of like it and not like it.. the chords are pretty awesome and calm but i think they should've made it a bit more actionish :p if thats a word (im dutch)

I like the sound it makes at the end of each ball though... its kind of a calming sound track i guess

what do you think of the rollergames, black knight, whirlwind ones?

#83 5 years ago

FT for me. The music gets on my nerve so quickly that I want to walk away before a game ends. I haven't played FT since and don't ever want to own one.

#84 5 years ago

Victory. Clearly horrible.

#86 5 years ago

Tee'd Off is miserable. Same with The Amazing Spider-Man... ugh...

#87 5 years ago
Quoted from deeznuts:

f14 right behind it.

I love the F14 music when playing the game. But in attract mode when it goes on for 30 minutes continuously drives me crazy. I had to turn that off.

#88 5 years ago

How difficult is it to change the music on the ROMS in a System 11 game? It seems like if someone was able to do that, you could take a game with a soundtrack that you hate and turn it into one that you love.

Party Zone's attempt at Pinball Wizard must surely put it up near the top?
