Quoted from wayout440:I'll tell you what though, the circuit is definitely protected if it was supposed to carry 20A.
Right.
That fuse cluster will certainly blow before 20A goes through it.

Quoted from schudel5:The SG came from Kentucky; so I wasn't even surprised in the slightest.
Quoted from Speeddemon:Here is my Six Million Dollar Man power supply board... This has worked for about 3 years. Now I can't take it anymore. Fixing asap. Lights flickering and sounds changing pitch while playing. I notice hackers like lamp cord. Good post!

Nice "remote" BR on that one, lol.
Quoted from reynolds531:I will assume that there is no sarcasm in your comment.
None at all.
You can tell when I'm being sarcastic because I talk through my teeth.
Quoted from reynolds531:Is this better/bigger?
That is one of the most fantastic piles of crap I have ever seen!
I have emailed your larger pic to the techs at work for their viewing pleasure.
As long as you don't want the board back (in case I really f it up removing all that goo), I'll take a stab at it.
I guess I really just want to see what's wrong with it that required so much BS, lol.
There are little adhesive dots that you use for circuit board repair when you need to stick down a wire.
And I think we have all been guilty of using a hot glue gun once in a while. Little dots of hot glue.
But that board is just crazy.
Quoted from Pinterest:What holds them to the board once all of the traces are melted away from removing the old chip?
Magnets.
Quoted from Andy_B:Not the worst but I'm still impressed by the flying traces. It does work though
If they bothered to fill the hole with epoxy, it would not be the worst repair in the world......
Quoted from ForceFlow:I picked up more than a few games where the owners were completely amazed that the lockbar came off and the glass came out.
Yep, I've gone to people's houses to buy a game and they will tell me "They seal them up so you have to buy a whole new one", like it's an Iphone or something.
Quoted from ForceFlow:Keep in mind--the phone will now refuse to boot if you replace certain parts with aftermarket parts.
Error 53....
Quoted from Cheddar:I was pulling lamps out of an early stern and they all seemed to have vaseline on them. WTH???
Back when people still used incandescent bulbs in their homes, they would vaseline the threads of any bathroom or outdoor bulbs to keep them from corroding permanently to the sockets.
Quoted from ForceFlow:Just spotted this on ebay:

I want that so bad.
How many hours of dicking around would it take to build that thing, rather than just buying a new board?
Quoted from Patofnaud:And then they are using thermal paste when air would have done fine.
Hey, that must be why the old one smoked, it needed a heatsink and thermal compound.
lol
Quoted from jwwhite15:Pretty sure it is a mud dauber's nest.
When that nest warms up in the house, there will be a few nice surprises.
Quoted from dudah:Somebody fabricated an elegant curved metal bracket, then held it in place with a L bracket.
Excellent fix, but what did they do with the backglass that bracket was holding up?
I once saw inside the door panel of my buddy's BMW and the dealer had left a pair of Vise-Grips holding the window guide track, rather than just tack-welding it.
He said he had taken it in several times for the same problem, so I guess the dealer had found the final solution.
