Not clear if the fire came before or after their handy work....

    Quoted from frenchmarky:

I always liked those pal nuts, chrome is snazzier looking than the rubber caps. I don't think I've ever had one come loose. I'd never put the rubber tips on a game that originally came with the chrome nuts, doesn't look right. When removing I just pull up on them a little at first while turning, no big deal.

I ended up putting black rubber ones from PBR on a Blackout I had. To me they fit the darker theme of the game better than chrome would have.

    Quoted from koji:

I'm guessing the incandescent bulb, since the other is LED.

Looks like the EOS is jumpered on the coil.

    Quoted from DCRand:

Actually kind of looks that way in the picture. But the head is blue and unlit. Thinking it is a new form of fuse. If the match lights, the game shuts down?

    After it smoulders a bit...

    Quoted from j_m_:

because staples are so 18th century and overrated?

Doubt I still have any pictures, but I picked up a Bally Viking several years back that had the ground braid held on and, in some cases, connected using thumb tacks.

    Quoted from play_pinball:

I work in TV and can tell you, they're not building a new cabinet to greek out old designs. That's probably washable (if you're lucky) paint sprayed on the side of a Whirlwind.

Looks like they may have done the same on the trans-light.

    Quoted from MrBally:

Some people can’t solder, that's all....

Those holes are likely tied together on the back side of the circuit board. You can confirm with an ohmmeter.
