Soldering a circuit breaker to the fuse is a similar hack that has a good purpose. It makes a great fuse tester. Once the game is fixed, you shouldn't need a breaker in there anymore, but if you have a machine that mysteriously blows fuses now and then, this might be good.

    Quoted from Atari_Daze:

Wow, I've not seen one of these before, did you put that one in?[quoted image]

Yes I did. That is a switching 5v regulator from https://www.ezsbc.com/product/psu5/
Every time I come a cross a WPC driver board with low 5 volts, I replace the regulator with one of these and the caps. It works about 90% of the time.

They also work nicely on the Bally/Stern solenoid driver boards. I've gotten a couple of older boards running again by using the psu5. You can't get the LM323K regulators any more, unless you want to get one from Digi-key for $71.17 each. https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/texas-instruments/LM323K-STEEL-NOPB/6200

    Quoted from Pintopia:

This is from a recent full overhaul I did on a game.

    Before and after:

I never could figure out why some people hate grounding so much!
